My husband and I ate at Mama Mia's for the first time on Easter of 2006. We were dating then and the evening seemed divine. The staff greeted us so warmly, the food was scrumptious, and since then it is one of our very favorites. Mr. V., the owner, always comes to our table to greet us and on occasion offers us complementary dessert. The New York Strip Steak is always cooked to perfection and oh how delicious!!! We also love their spinach dip---to die for! The prices are right and in this economy that means a lot. We live about 20 miles form the restaurant and there is no freeway to get us there directly so it really is quite a drive but it is well worth it. The only problem and I do mean ONLY problem we have with Mama Mia's is that they feed you so well and there is so much food, we have to fight in order to determine who is going to drive home. We both want to go to sleep on the way home. I guess that's a pretty good problem to have. I highly recommend this restaurant!

We had a graduation party at the Livonia Mama Mias, on a Wednesday night with 60 guests. I believe that we were majorly ripped off paying $1,200. We paid $17 a person, which included tax and tip, but we also had to pay $8 per pitcher of pop!!! Fountain pop is very inexpensive, costing just pennies.
The food wasn't that great. It was served buffet style, but not at the time they said it would be served. We asked for broasted chicken and they served baked chicken, the bread was hard, they ran out of gravy, and they didn't seem to have enough food. I felt as if the food was recycled from a previous banquet party. It even slightly smelled like fish and we did not have fish that night. One server told the mother of the grad that she would get a new batch of gravy made, but that never happened and the mother, who paid for the entire event, ate her food w/o gravy.
The staff took the cakes in the back to cut them and add ice cream. It took FOREVER for the servers to come back out with cake. The served one trays worth of cake and then went back into the kitchen. We waited FOREVER for the servers to come back with more cake. We actually went to check on them and it we were shocked to see that the servers and kitchen staff were eating our cake! Mind you the cake hadn't even been served to all of the guests! They finally came back out with cake 15 minutes later, but told a guest at the last table that they ran out of cake! Another server told the guest that she thought there was another piece in the back, but the other server standing there said, no it's gone. A piece magically appeared a few minutes later! I personally made this cake and it should have fed 60 people if cut properly, mind you we had 2 sugar free cakes too! Some people were served slivers of cake because they were running out and because the staff obviously ate part of the cake. I was and still am furious.

I have a great respect for this restaurant. I walk in with my family and am always greeted with one of the family members be it the father, mother, daughters or grandson. They are friendly and never make you feel unwelcomed. I have talked with their employees, and they all love them as family. The food is great! All home cooked, and you even see the owners come out of the kitchen, knowing they just cooked your meal. We frequent at least everyother week or more, and would tell everyone to try and you will be addicted to not only the fabulous food, but the welcomed atmosphere. Keep up the good work.

I love Mama Mia's food! They've got some bread sticks to die for! Hot, Fresh and home made covered in butter and parmesian cheese!
The only problem I have is that they don't give you enough room to move! The tables are too close together and if they're busy don't think about getting up!
I also wanted to have my baby shower there but I was 2 people under what they have as a set minimum for parties so they wouldn't allow us to do so... I thought that was a bit bogus but I guess it is their restaurant they can do what they please.
Prices are great too!
PROS: Food is AMAZING and Prices are great!
CONS: Seating is cramped

My sister had her wedding recption here. It worked out ok because she had a small party, but the food was pretty much limited to italian food and the serves were less than friendly and gredy about their tip. Of course it has been a few years since then, so things may be different now.
They are also a regular dine-in/carryout pizzaria. I have always enjoyed their pizza.
