I recently celebrated my b-day at the Melting Pt. What a wonderful experience. My husband and I have opposite schedules he is a chef and I’m an elementary school teacher off for summer break. My husband had to work a closing shift on my birthday so he wanted to take me somewhere special for lunch. When he told me we were going to the Melting Pt I though he was crazy because I had no idea they even had lunch there. When we arrived I noticed their new patio. Although I was hesitant to sit outside because it was about noon in the middle of July but the hostess assured me that the umbrellas block out most of the sun/heat. She was right it was absolutely beautiful! The umbrellas provided so much shade and the ambiance of the patio was so serene. When we sat at our table I noticed the dozen roses my hubby ordered for me! They were so beautifully arranged and it was such a pleasant surprise.
The lunch menu was very well priced. I was surprised about the savings. Because we were on a time crunch we did the cheese salad and chocolate special (all of the best things). I have been to the Melting Pt before and it has always taken a bit of time, but our server (Marcus) was very accommodating to our schedule. He had us fed with time to spare. I even had time to enjoy a grand mariner with my chocolate.
It was absolutely a delightful b-day lunch and we were done in time for my hubby to get off to work. I got to take the dozen roses with me! So my husband was officially off the hook for having to work on my birthday.
Thanks!
Samantha and Tom
Pros: MMM cheese
Cons: none

I love reading reviews on these web sites, but I never thought I would actually write one myself!
I just took my fiancé to the MeltingPot for the first time and we were both blown away. We had both heard from our friends that the atmosphere and customer service was superb, they were right! Our server was one of the most knowledgeable people we have ever met. He knew the menu like he had written it himself. I am an employee at a restaurant myself and when I told our server that, he told us about their hospitality special. For people in the service industry they can have all four courses for half price! I was shocked and amazed that even in this economy a restaurant can have such a great deal! We decided to go that route and it was simply amazing! Our friends told us that the price was better than they anticipated and they were correct again.
I don't know of another fine dining restaurant where you can get so much food for so little. Our meal took roughly 2 hours and we only spent $75.00 for our food and a bottle of wine!!!!
When we arrived there we walked through their brand new patio that looks amazing. We were going to dine on the patio but they had just closed it down for the evening. Our reservation was at 10:30 PM so it wasn't a problem. Looking at the patio we are definitely going to come back and eat on the patio. Our server told us when we asked about the patio that it is open for lunch!!!! To top that off they have a new lunch menu to go along with the beautiful new addition.
To try to summarize everything up, this was our first visit to the MeltingpPot but it will not be our last. We were blown away by the service and atmosphere and will tell all of our friends and family to go to the MeltingPot and have as much fun as we did!
Pros: Knowledgable Staff and great atmosphers
Cons: Nothing

I am a HUGE fondue fan, but can never get my husband to take me out for fondue. We had tried "La Fondue" in downtown Denver one year for Valentine's Day and it was a horrible disaster. So, it took some talking into on my part to get him to take me to The Melting Po* for our wedding anniversary.
The ONLY drawback was that we forgot to make reservations, when we called that afternoon to see if we could get in that evening, they said no. However, I had my heart set on going there and talked my husband into just showing up and seeing if we could get in. We showed up and were seated right away. ??? We were happy about that but how come they told us there was no availability?
Anyway...the experience was AWESOME! Our waiter was very nice, friendly and very knowledgeable. He explained everything to us (what la fondue is desperately missing.) The salad was so YUMMY!!! The cheese was amazing. The meat with all the sauces is so tasty. Then, you get to the chocolate party and oh wow! Simply scrumptious!!
Overall, it was a wonderful experience. If you don't mind cooking your own food (which I think is fun, not everyone does,) and having a long leisurely meal....this is the place for you!
Oh, not to mention the old building that the restaurant is in is VERY cool!
Keep up the good work Melting Po*! If you continue with hiring the awesome servers and bringing out the yummy food...we'll be back again and again!
Pros: Great food AND great service!
Cons: Reservations

I ate at this restaurant at the end of September 08. After receiving my credit card statement, I had a billing dispute. I faxed a letter to the restaurant on October 23, 2008 requesing a copy of my receipt. Three weeks later, I still had not received a copy of the receipt, so I went to the restaurant in person to demand a receipt. I was faxed a receipt the next day. However, after reviewing the receipt, I still have a billing dispute with this restaurant. The following day, I left a message for the manager/operating partner, who had faxed me the receipt, and I told him that I was still disputing the bill and asked for a call back. It has now been 3 days, and the magager/operating partner has not returned my phone call. I feel I will have no choice but to dispute this bill in writing with the credit card company. I am tired of being ignored with what I feel is a legitimate billing dispute. Given the prices they charge for food, I would expect much better service and more professionalism from them. They have permanently lost my business.

Ok...so I tried this restaurant because of all the good reviews. I give this restaurant a low score because, honestly, for the money...the food was not so great. Plain food that you "boil" and dip in some ok tasting sauces. This was not my idea of a fine dining experience no matter how you slice it. Take your money and spend it in a nice steak house or italian restaurant instead.

We went for our anniversary and a much needed date night. We were greeted by very attentive hostesses and we got a great area in the basement. The roses and mood was set for the evening. New to this dining experience, our server, a tall red-headed gentleman with a great smile and cheerful personality) explained everything in detail and made a few suggestions as to his favorites. Glad we had a guide! The service was quick and professional. The food "Out-of-this world," the dining experience was fun, the location of our private cove, perfect. Lots of money? You get what you pay for and we did, experienced server, fantastic food, great atmosphere! What more could one ask for?
Pros: Experienced Servers, Ambience/Atmosphere, Great Food, Flowers for Date
Cons: Not a single one.

I mean, really people. Unless you go to Chilli's or someone other craphole, you're not going to find a better deal in town. The same idiots who complain about it being overpriced are probably the same ones who complain about having to cook their own food!!! GET A FRIGGING CLUE!!!.
I recently took my wife of eight years to the Littleton location for an impromptu night out. From the moment I walked in the door I not only observed an attentive host staff, but an multi-level waterfall. Simply AMAZING!
Our server, who was very professional and direct, began telling us about their newest special. It was a four course meal for two which included a bottle of wine. Where on earth can you find something like this? The best part about the special was that a portion of the proceeds were going to charity. Our server made us believe that without a doubt, this was the best way to go. He was direct and passionate, but not pushy.
We tried their newest cheese and although the presentation was interesting (a long carving knife to a lime for zest) I still believe the Wisconsin cheese is their best.
Chocolate was of course sinful, but what set the night off completely had nothing to do with the food. Towards the end of our evening the manager, Tony I believe was his name,( My wife calls him the well-dressed secret service) came to our table with two glasses of champagne. We were both shocked he came to the table considering we weren't celebrating anything with champagne and strawberries. When we informed him we weren't celebrating anything he laughed and said he knew that, but sometimes just getting out is reason enough. AGREED!!! He then thanked us for coming in and talked briefly about the charity we had just "donated" to!
I had to write my own review of this wonderful restaurant after seeing several bad reviews. We'll be back!

Pros: Everything from the waterfalls to the service...
Cons: $6.50 for a beer?

I held a baby shower here at tor my daughter and my first grandchild and I have to say it was great! The staff went out of their way to make sure it was memorable. They supplied balloons that said "it's a boy" and and made sure we had everything we needed. The fondue was great and our server "Jim" did a fantastic job. The staff even helped us carry the gifts my daughter received out to our vehicles. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special event. Also, I have eaten here on other occasions and have always found it to be excellent. Yes, it takes awhile, but it is fondue for goodness sake!!! It is not cheap, but the experience is worth the money.

After reading many online reviews (mixed, although some could be discarded when they got into the "I have to cook my own food?" comments!), I was a little worried about whether it would be worthwhile to go. I decided to go ahead, and we took a group of 8 to the Littleton location.
I needn't have been concerned. We were seated quickly for a 9pm reservation on a Saturday--it would have paid to make the reservation more than a week out, if we needed to get in earlier--in a sort of "private room." It was smallish, but comfortable.
The service was outstanding. From the roses waiting at the table (it was a birthday celebration) to the attentive waiter, we were very pleased with our treatment. We had everything explained well (and patiently), and it was fun to watch the food prep and cook with fondue. The seafood-based main course was very tasty, filling, and enjoyable to cook.
Yes, the price is up there, but I thought it was well worth the expense for the experience we had over 3 hours. If you're looking for fine dining, then you might be disappointed, but if you want to do fondue, then by all means, don't hesitate.
