In October the Chatfield Arboretum has an annual pumpkin patch. There is a 5 acre pumpkin patch where you pick your own, hayrides, activities, farm displays and food and craft venders. There is also a large corn field maze that changes every year. Very well run and the pumpkins are not too expensive. The maze is fantastic at night.

The AMC 24 in Highlands Ranch is my absolute favorite theater to see movies at. I love the huge screens, and I love the many different movies to choose from. Also, being rather short, I like that there is enough of a step up between rows of seats that I never have to worry about having someone’s head blocking my view; to make the seats even more comfortable, the armrests fold back, so that you can snuggle with your date (or block them off by folding the armrest back down, if you want). Almost every movie I see, I see at that theater, so obviously I’d recommend it to any other movie-goer, as well!

My daughter has attended Centerstage for 5 years for jazz. She has always loved the teachers and gets very excited about what she is learning. There is definite growth every year. They learn different moves, as well as the names for them. They have Company, for more serious dancers as well as recreational dance.

This is an marvelous and colorful magazine-style publication that is free in Littleton. I understand that they are about to expand to include even more of the south end. (it's name will also be changed to the South end Downtowner). This is good news as this highly readable publication is a must-have for anyone living in and around the Littleton area. Targeted toward families and singles over 30, the work is informative and creative. Recent articles include "Driving Ireland" a review of local artists. The editorials are great and it's a great business resource for the local area as well.

McDonald's has been offering movie rentals at several of their Denver Metro Area locations. The movie rentals are run by a company called Red Box (www.redbox.com). The movies – which are the latest new releases – are rented for only $1 per night. Another great thing about renting from Red Box is that they can be returned to any McDonald's with a Red Box – even if it’s not the same location that you rented it from. Check out their website for a list of the titles that they currently offer and for a map of all their locations.

From the time I was six until I turned 19, I took lessons at Little Theatre. I can’t imagine any other dance studio being more appropriate for children. Little Theatre does not take dance so seriously that their students can’t have fun and feel pressured to always work harder; but Little Theatre still expects their students to learn responsibility and poise. Little Theatre lets their students decide whether they want to dance as a career and compete, or whether they simply want to dance as recreation. This flexibility makes Little Theatre perfect for every student.

During the warmer months, most of the shops in old Littleton participate in sidewalk sales on the weekends. During one of these sales, I browsed through the sidewalk display at the Andy Marquez Gallery. I was quite impressed with the artwork. The framed art is fantastic, but I was particularly attracted to a book of photographs of the “Old West,” which featured many remarkable black-and-white photos of still-standing artifacts of the Old West, such as buildings. The artwork in this gallery is well worth checking out!

I can remember the first movie I saw in the Bowles Crossing theater: THE LION KING, when I was probably about twelve. Back then, the theater was pretty new, so there was a lot of oohing and aahing when the heavy red velvet curtains closed and opened again for the previews. Of course, the theater isn’t as new now, and the seats are as comfortable as some of the newer theaters, but the classic styling of the theater is still fun to me.

This place is satisfactory. I wish that they had nicer employees and a bigger layout with more square feet and more games for people to play and be happy. Not all of the employees are generous and are happy to see you. The place is a little small but it's great if you dont want to waste a whole day in an amusement park.

More
Select Colorado Cinemas has a great deal on a kids birthday party. At the SouthWest location (Bowles Crossing 12), they have a party room upstairs by all of the projectors. For only $25. you can reserve the room for a birthday party. They offer additional party packages as well, which can include cake & icecream, a movie and/or kids snack pack. I reserved the room only and then used coupons to pay for the 10 kids admission tickets and snack packs. The kids loved it! They had cake and ice cream and opened presents first, then they all watched a movie. Instead of giving them a gift bag, I bought all of the kids a snack pack (popcorn, pop & candy). The staff at this location was absolutely fabulous! They provided all paperware and even cut the cake I brought! They cleaned up everything and locked the gifts in the room while we were in the movie. Afterward, they thanked us and helped get the kids situated to meed their parents. You have to call the corporate office to get the direct phone number to the manager at the select location you want the party at.
