My wife swears by Aldi for our basic shopping. Although much of it is hit or miss, dairy staple items like sliced cheese, yogurt, milk, and eggs are all really cheap. We have found that we really like their wine label Winking Owl, and for $2.49 a bottle, it's a steal! Make sure you have cash or a debit card here, as you can't use a credit card or check. You also have to bag your own groceries and either provide your own bag or buy some from them. Still, considering the money you save, it's worth it

If you are planning on shopping here, make sure to bring your own grocery bags! This place does not do the complimentary grocery bags deal, and you will have to pay for them. But there is a payoff. You get super cheap groceries here, especially if you buy them in bulk. Yea, you won't get those "big" brands like Nestle or Kraft, but you get some great stuff nonetheless. Give this place a try and you will be surprised at how much money you can save on groceries!

Aldi is the perfect store to get great bargains. Their prices are always low. They do this by having customers bag their own merchandise. Not only that, but customers can bring their own shopping bags or else they have to buy them for .25. This might sound kind of weird to you, but it isn't that bad at all. Plus you save so much money so who cares.

If you're looking for cheap food, Aldi is your destination. However, the discounted foods do come at a price-- you have to bring your own bags, they only accept cash or debit card, and using a shopping cart requires a spare quarter to unlock it . Check out lines can be long depending on time of day.
Prices on some items are phenomenal. Their Winking Owl wines are a steal at 2.49 a bottle, but some of their meat and poultry can be found just as cheap at your local grocery store. For seasonal produce and canned goods, you can't beat Aldi.
Relatively speaking, this store has the best selection of produce; for a better-stocked wine selection, visit the Woodridge/Darien store. Also of note, Aldi does not list a phone number, so calling in with a question is next to impossible.
