I went to this bar to eat and drink. They have a decent food selection (great burgers, etc.) and beer. They also have Texas Hold'Em every Wednesday and Saturday night at 7:00 and again at 10:00. It's free to enter, donations accepted. And there are prizes for the winners. Even though I lost in the first round, it was fun playing anyway. They had several poker tables, and provided the cards and poker chips. They raise the blind bids every few hands so that it doesn't go on all night. It's definitely a smoking establishment, so don't go if you're concerned about that.

Golden Leaf is the best kept secret in Chinese cuisine in the Kansas City area. Located in a strip mall in south Leawood, this cozy little restaurant will fill you up without breaking the bank. While a bit more expensive than going to a buffet, the food is fresh, light, and tastes vastly better. Lunch is under $10 and enough to keep you satisfied until dinner.

The ultimate is Kansas City sports bars! Without turning your head you have an awesome view on 3-4 42" plasma screen televisions. The food is a large step up from traditional bar food with plenty of witty names for the dishes. An entertainment bonus for the true sports fan (and the kids if they happen to be with) is each booth has it's own 15" touch screen plasma with broadband internet access. If the Chiefs are on the big screen (and in this town, what else would be) at your booth you can watch the Steelers, Rams etc.) very cool, this place has the potential to be around for a long time!

TThe best smoked meats in town. You have to try the brisket, it is the best brisket you will ever try. They sell the usual types of deli meats, but the smoked flavor makes them exceptional. They also sell many varieties of cheeses and the biggest pickles you will ever see.
