The Towne Pub is a Leavenworth favorite and has been around for a long time. The owners and staff are very friendly and the food is great. Best of all, you can get a complete dinner for less than ten dollars and lunch is around five. The fried chicken dinner is probably one of the best in town. I highly recommend the Towne Pub for its, cheap, home-cooked meals. Next time you're in Leavenworth, you should definitely check it out.

Upon our first visit to Tampico (in 2006), we noticed the special touches and the fresh taste of the food.
Beginning with the warm chips and homemade salsas (which they now bottle) all the way to the Chilie Rellenos and Pollo Asado - we noticed the freshness. We mentioned this to the owner who makes the rounds to check on customer satisfaction. Thank Goodness it is not your typical assembly line Tex-Mex fare! (I am a transplanted Texan who is picky about my Mexican food.)
We have never had to wait long. The prices are good. And several times, we have used their banquets facilities - much to the pleasure of our guests.
The ambiance is nice. Located in a renovated area of historical Leavenworth. A great place to take your friends!

The Metropolitan is one of the rare restaurants that has kept on keeping on in Leavenworth, a town that can be hard on the restaurant business, and that should tell you something about its food. Much of the menu is classic bar 'n' grill extended with some hefty family meal type food. The setting is small and cozy--dark wood, small room, with a big bar along the back. As I recall they now don't allow smoking, which is a help as the main room is so small. In warmer weather seating is extended with a nice deck out back, and they do have live music some nights (I haven't experienced that). Most of the food I've had there is quite good--only a few so-so experiences, and you can have some surprises for a small Midwestern town place (how many places that you know serve Rocky Mountain oysters?!?).

Habanero's Mexican Restaurant has great tasting food for the whole family. They have excellent flavored meets for their tacos that also come with large amounts of toppings like cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. I would highly recommend getting dessert. They fried Hershey's chocolate bar is excellent.
