This is all happened on 1/20/2009. I had been told by a friend to go there, they had a ok size parking lot. when i first walking the place. it was such a lovely place.good lighting for a couple or a family. and who know a chinese place would have a full bar too. the food we order came out just the right order. foods are nice and hot and taste very good and the staff are very friendly and helpful. when i ask about to go menu and delivery . they told me to go is nice and fast about 15 min per order-also depend on their size and amount of food. they had drivers from 5pm to 9pm. and drivers close out by 8:45pm then they do the paper work and close out for the night. so they only do delivery from 4:55pm to about 8:45pm. this is nice to know and besides who eat dinner around 9 or 10pm, way to late for me anyway.i am happy that me and my friends got a new asian-chinese place to go to now. and i am very thankful that my friend told me about this nice place!!! i would come there again for their food.

This restaurant can produce decent food when it wants to. Unfortunately, the whim of the owner or manager on duty prescribes the attitude and performance of the kitchen and wait staff. On several occasions, I have ordered meals between 19:00 and 21:00 (7:00 PM and 9:00 PM). Depending on the mood of the staff on duty, I might be received well, and get something to eat. Tonight, 13 Jan 08, I attempted to place an order for a dinner delivery, and was told that they stopped delivering 10 minutes before I called. I called at 20:40 {8:20 PM} and was told that they stopped delivering, but I could pick up my meal. Prior contact educated me to order before 2100 {9:00 PM} if I wanted to receive a dinner from this restaurant. Well, I guess that is no longer the standard. This restaurant is unreliable if you wish home delivery. You can't count on them. M. Pros: Their food is okay. Cons: They will not deliver as they claim they will.

WE ARE NOT CUSTOMERS OF ORIENT CAFE ANY MORE... From my last conversation with a lady from Orient Cafe, there has been a change in ownership. Here is a recap of our experiences: The last 2 times we have ordered delivery, we requested no snow peas, no bean sprouts, and to keep it light on the soy sauce with the fried rice. Being a higher priced restaurant, Orient Cafe said they would honor the request. Guess what? Each order being over $70, we got snow peas, bean sprouts, heavy soy sauce, and (this last time) soup leaking all over everything because the top of the container leaked from a cracked top. When I called about the mess up, the lady at Orient Cafe said we could bring the food back and they would replace it. I JUST GAVE THE DELIVERY PERSON A NICE TIP AND I NEED TO DRIVE OVER TO ORIENT CAFE TO FIX THIS? GIVE ME A BREAK! We used to order delivery about once every 3 weeks because the food was very good and our order would be delivered perfectly. We felt it was a little expensive, but as long as the service and food was great, it was worth it. Not any more. We will not be spending any more money at Orient Cafe in League City, Texas!

Love that they deliver! But enjoy dining in also (except the Kenny G background cd one time). Service has always been friendly and competent (Gerald is great & will probably be tough to keep). It is a large space and since we end up eating very late, there are generally only a few patrons left. As such, we assumed their success was based more on deliveries, but on a recent lunch visit, we were delighted to see they were very busy. Our son loves the "all-day special" option. Effort was obviously put in to appointing the space, with the inlaid wood details in the walls and sculpted dropped ceiling, etc, and the full service bar is appreciated. The menu is extensive, so when we order delivery, we stick to our usuals, but we have yet to be disapointed with any dish served thus far. Certainly check them out. Pros: great for delivery to South Shore, good food, service & appointment

While I do wish there were more choices for Chinese food, ESPECIALLY DELIVERY, Orient Cafe is the best choice around the South Shore/Kemah area. It is a restaurant first, delivery 2nd but the staff are always friendly and helpful and you'll always be more than satisfied with the food. On a scale of 1 - 10, the flavor, quality and quantity of the meals are an 8.5 out of 10. Orient Cafe's competition is 1) Szchuan Garden on FM2094 down the street and the Fish Bowl on Hwy146, the latter being a buffet restaurant and neither of them deliver. Szchuan Garden is HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!! The fish bowl is a great restaurant if you like buffet style though it's the most expensive buffet within 20 miles. If you go to Orient Cafe, ask for Pat .. he is their best waiter hands down and will treat you right and you'll want to come back to see him. Funny guy too! Pros: Everything Cons: Limited parking on Fri/Sat nights
