If you want one of the best meals in town you will head down to Doug & Emmy's right now! Their breakfasts are amazing and they have the best grilled steak sandwich in the WORLD. They'll be closing soon because of Trax coming in right behind them (they are in the old train depot on Main Street) so you'll have to hurry if you want to experience the "good stuff." After that they will only have a restaurant open in Evanston, Wyoming. Bummer -- that's a long way to go for a grilled steak sandwich.
Pros: Inexpensive but delicious food. You won't be disappointed.
Cons: They're closing and don't plan to reopen in Layton -- but would sure like to convince them otherwise!

Doug and Emmy's really is a little treasure that everyone should try. The location is lousy, the decor is pretty much that of a standard cafe, but the scones and cinnamon rolls are really, really good. I can't say much about the lunch menu, but this really is a great place to enjoy a nice leisurely breakfast with good food and friends. Highly recommended.

Wow!! I ordered a cinnamon roll and a scone to take home. The cinnamon roll was huge enough to feed 4 people and was only $3. The scone was monsterous too, it took 2 of us to clear that one. Excellent honey butter. You can get a lot of food really cheap.

This is a small family owned restaurant converted from an old house. The decor is lacking and the seats are worn. The waitress was very busy but friendly. The food was good and priced similar to a Dennys or IHOP. One thing that does make them stand out is their scones. They are HUGE! Get it with the honey butter -YUM!
