You'd probably never stop here unless you happen to be staying at the Super 8 or are a casino worker. It's nondescript, out-of-the-way, and not particularly attractive. I visited based on the recommendation of a fellow local when asked where's a good deal on food.
The restaurant is in a corner of the casino and looks like a Denny's or Shoney's but less well-lit. Specials include a daily one that always includes huge portions (roast pork, mashed potatoes, etc.) Oddly, no rolls or bread of any kind, even upon request.
Occasional unbelievable specials, like Oktoberfest one day. All the ribs and beer you can eat for $10???
They brew their own beer. Try the peach cobbler, too.
If you want a REALLY cheap deal, sign up for the players club. In about 2 weeks, they send you a 2-for-1 coupon.
One more annoying practice...since it's adjacent to the casino, they require you to wait about 20 minutes even though there are tons of empty tables. Presumably, that's so you'll drop some bucks into the casino.
Pros: Cheap food, Large quantities
Cons: Ambience

i am not going to tell you that it was great because it was not , but if you are not a fussy eater you cant beat the deal, i just had to see what a $4.95 steak dinner was, well you get a lot of food! salad, bread and butter veggies(canned for sure) and a piece of meat about as good as the outback (i am not a fan of the outback)if you have no money and need a meal why not!
Pros: about as cheep as you are gonna get!!!

We have enjoyed numerous breakfasts at Ellis Island including a few during our recent vacation. My wife ordered easy over eggs with wheat toast, home fries, bacon and coffee. I decided to go large by ordering a blackboard special ? 8 ounce steak, eggs, sourdough toast and home fries. Our food arrived promptly, but I was disappointed in the size of my steak in comparison to those at surrounding tables, mine was obviously the runt of the litter.
On a second visit we each ordered the vanilla cinnamon French toast which was crisp and delicious. Service on both visits was very good.
We used 2/1 coupons from the American Casino Guide to make the already bargain priced meals even a better deal.
Pros: Low prices, very good breakfasts
Cons: Off strip location

There is a Super 8 (The Largest In the chain they Boast!) Right next to this place and that's how I discoverd Ellis Island. (I had just got in, I stayed there, it was late and I was hungry!) I had a Chicken salad and some chicken wings and that homemade brew! (WOW!) My parents met me there when they got in and they were in awe! So what it smells like a vintage vegas spot. That's what makes it great! I ate there the next day (Had the Prime Rib.....WOHOO!) It's not tha far from the Venitian or the strip for that matter. The locals recomends that spot (Most of the cab drivers eat there!) And it dosen't have that VEGAS STRIP PRICE! There is a downside....long lines for breakfast, lunch, sometimes dinner, and it isn't as flavorable as say TEXAS or LOUISIANA FOOD, but that's why they put condiments on the table, right? If you doing Vegsa on a budget, like most of us do, go get stranded in Ellis Island.
Pros: Cheap Even for Vegas!
Cons: The Old Vegas Casino Smell, Long Lines

ELLIS ISLAND in Las Vegas is the best kept secret in town. The best little casino with the best restaurant. The home cooked meals they serve in the restaurant are hard to beat anywhere. The prices are so reasonable and the food is wonderful home cooking. We have been to Vegas 8 times and we always head straight to Ellis Island to get a bite to eat as they are open 24/7. We also like to play a bit in their casino, good slot club too!!

My brother and I discovered the Ellis Island Barbecue by accident about 8 years ago. I have never had babyback ribs so good. The price is more than reasonable. Whenever we have visitors, we always take them to the barbecue and they enjoy the ribs and chicken as much as we do. In fact, on return trips, some of these people go on their own to have the ribs. I usually am able to enjoy my ribs the next day as I am unable to finish a full rack in one sitting. I recommend getting the full rack so that you too can have leftovers! My one complaint is the beans that come on the platter (along with coleslaw, corn cobettes & garlic toast) are not very good. We have mentioned this to the waiters and we have been told the owner likes them, so they are still serving them.

I was in Vegas this past weekend and was taken to Ellis Island by a friend on mine who has lived in Vegas for the past 5 years. It's not a fancy place, nor large, but it does have one very good draw: cheap beer.
After paying exorbitant prices on the strip, it was a welcome change to pay $2 for a beer and play some blackjack with a friendly dealer.
I was happy with it, but then again, I wasn't looking to be a high roller.

Ellis Island is located a bit off the strip so you would have to know where it is to find it. I got into Vegas around 8am and went for breakfast. For $4 I got a steak, bread, hashbrowns, and 2 eggs. You really can't beat a deal like that. For breakfast there was no wait. The servers are a bit strange and slow maybe but for $4 who cares. The parking is free and easy to find.

Without a doubt, this is the best deal in Vegas. For $4.95, you get a 10 ounce sirloin steak, with your choice of salad or soup, choice of potato, side of vegetables, and bread. The "catch" is that this is not on the menu! You simply need to ask for it. The restaurant is open 24 hours, so if you have steak cravings, you can head over anytime. You can also try some of the home brewed beer (or root beer) for $1 each. The drawbacks are the possible long waits and the smokiness in the restaurant.

the patio is my favorite. you can sit and relax, without the noise of the slots. and children love it, as they aren't being told to stay away from the gambling. it's a comfortable area . the food is great and prices are also GREAT!!! the service was very good ,too. so, much food the kids could take back to the hotel . you know how kids like to say they're hungry just after you've left the resturant. so , the to-go box was great.
also, we had the resturant inside food two days, later. the food was great , like the ribs we had on the patio, the steak dinner was very good . we had great service, very clean and comfortable resturant. the prices were also, very reasonable. i give the highest rating to the ELLIS ISLAND RESTURANT AND PATIO CAFE. SINCERLY,SALLIE.
Pros: WALKING DISTANCE FROM, PRICES GREAT, GREAT FOOD
Cons: NOT ADVERTISED, CABBI, NONE, NONE
