Went in for a late dinner and order two items crab with ginger and scallions and spicy salt squid. The crab tased like it had been dead for days and the squid had very little flavor almost like it was just dredged in flour. Both me and my date had hot tea and water and the bill was $31.00 without the tip. I will never go back it was terrible.
Pros: none
Cons: over priced

I was planing to vist Las Vegas with my extended family (total of 5 of us) and I heard about this place on food network. When we all got in from Detroit, we took an extended cab ride to the place and found that the parking lot was empty! That was not a good sign! But in this case that sign was wrong. The food is delicious !!! We ordered a family meal and we had enough to take back to the hotel after we had eaten our fill. The hot and sour soup was wonderful it had wonderful balance. Two of my family have been to China and they said that the only better was found there. The place started to fill up as we were leaving... I guess we are not like the 24hour vibe that is found in Vegas. The only thing that I DID NOT LIKE was that the food was not cheap. I hope that when I come back to Vegas ... moving there in a few years that they are still there and a little less expensive.
Pros: Much on the menu to choose from. Very innovative food. Couldn't get enough Lemon Chicken
Cons: Very expensive in a city of cheaper (but good) choices,

Joyful House is my most favorable restaurant in Las Vegas. Their salt & pepper lobster are the best seafood dish that I have tried in town. It was so crispy & the taste was so good that I can't stop until the last bite. Their waiter are very helpful & friendly to me & my family. Their fine wine list also impress me so much, I think no where in town can compare with their incredible price. I went to this restaurant since I moved to Las Vegas in 2001, I love this restaurant because they can always maintain a very good service & food quality, I never been disappointed over there. Joyful, keep it up!!

I love this place. The food is authentic, the servers are friendly, the portions are huge and the prices are reasonable. I like that they are open late and have a predominantly Chinese clientelle. The only complaint I have is the way they serve their Peking Duck. They serve it on a steamed bun and chop the duck instead of carving it so it has lots of bone shards.
The calamari is the perfect mix of salt, heat, and crunch. The vegetables are crispy and not at all over cooked. The sauces are tasty without being heavy and cloying.
All in all a great Chinese restaurant.

I recently visited joyful house and the food was not anything special, I liked the quickness of the service and the hours of operation are great. The restaurant does not look nice inside or out so don't expect first class. You can get the same quality food from China Joes anywhere in town. I would not really reccond it to anyone.
Pros: Quick service
Cons: price, food

There wr 4 of us, the order- taker suggestd different foods & seafood specials. The food was average, nothing special. We wr shockd to see our bill, then the order-tkr sd, that $120 4 lb lobster & $109 2 lb fish were frm Australia & high quality. When he suggestd it, he didn't mentiond the price, we didn't expect that this kind of plc, a hole in the wall-kind of dirty restaurant will chrge that much, even the fancy plc doesn't chrg that much. We tld him that thy shld hv inform us & he sd, thy don't want to insult thr customers. We sd, for that price, you shld hv sd smthing & thr r alwys plenty of respectful nice ways to inform customers, that's way over-priced. We don't wnt to argue anymr & we just pd it! I was so disappointd & will report thm to Business Bureau.

Out of all the Chinese restaurants in Vegas, Joyful House is the one that feels truly authentic. It obscure and small and if you drive without really looking left or right, you could miss it but this place is the best. The food is amazing and the prices are reasonably cheap. Don't waste your time finding any other Chinese restaurant. The big helpings of the entrees are great especially because it's served family style. I love the spicy calamari. The menu is in Chinese but the waiters are there to help you and even tell you their recommendations if you ask them. Very friendly and open until 2 am. It's Vegas' best kept secret and locals should all love it if they love Chinese food. Just don't tell the tourists yet.
