I told the salesman what i expected to pay and they accomodated me. It wasn't the deal I wanted but it was close. the parts people are great and they hacve a ton in stock. i haven't went to service yet but so far so good. great shop. highly reccomend it!

Went in to buy a popular $3500 bike. They misqoted MSRP, and then tacked on a bunch of fees, so that the out-the-door price came to over $5500. I bought the same bike in Arizona for $1100 less!

After discovering another shop in town I would NEVER take my bike back to Carter. One of the many negative experiences I've had there: six months ago I ran over a nail and had to have my back tire replaced. Carter had the size I needed in stock but not the same brand name. They gave me a huge hassle about it saying I would have to replace both the front and rear even though the front was fine just so I would have the same brands. Eventually (after much going back and forth with the manager) they agreed to let me use the different brand name if I signed a waiver. The rear tire alone cost me about $300.
Just last week I ran over another nail. I called Motorcycle City. They told me they have the size I need, it's a different brand but "that's no big deal" and it will be $120 including installation. Carter Powersports ripped me off completely. I had been taking my bike there for a year prior to discovering Motorcycle City. It makes me wonder how many other times they ripped me off that I don't even know about. If you need repair on your bike, go to Motorcycle City instead!
Pros: Can't think of any off hand
Cons: Scam artists

I had a satisfactory experience with the Maintenance and Service department, but the people they have manning the Parts department need a serious lesson in manners. Maybe they have to deal with some rude customers and have to answer a lot of stupid questions, but I didn't appreciate getting into a shouting match with a young girl over handing over some personal information when paying for my motorcycle service.
I had sufficient proof to prove who I was and the appropriate funds were deducted from my account. Having a young punk girl get confrontational with me because I refused to hand over additional personal information was downright unprofessional. The other members of their Parts staff aren't that much better when you ask them simple questions (both on the phone and in person).
The management needs to give some of these people some serious training in customer service whether they like it or not. I don't owe them my repeat business.
PROS: Good Maintenance turnaround time.
CONS: Punk Attiutude with Staff

I purchased from carter a few months ago. Although there were a few problems all were taken care of in a reasonable time and in a courteous manner.
