The best meal I've had in a long time. Sushi Loca has always been a favorite hot spot of mine - but I honestly think last night was THE BEST dinner I've had out so far this year. From the first second to the last - I was thrilled. I set up a dinner party for 6 friends and picked Sushi Loca because I know they have those great sushi bar. I made a reservation a few weeks ahead of time as I know its a popular place to be on Friday night.
The sushi was so fresh and the specials of the day were unlike anything I'd ever tried. We continued our night after sushi loca, but everyone kept teasing that we should've quit while we were ahead! The dinner was so fantastic that every club in Las Vegas had to offer paled in comparison. Incredible experience. I'm a little bit of a food snob - so when I rave like this, I hope all citysearch readers take note!
Pros: Best Sushi and Incredible Service
Cons: No cons

My 1st visit to this restuarant was last night. I was so impressed with the service, the food was off the hook! I talked about this Sushi Loca restuarant to all my friends and I was so hungry for it again that I ordered take out the next day. It was not even close to what I had last night. I even ordered the same thing. Now my last experience with this food has me mad. I spent the same amount of money I did last night, but only got half the value. I didnt even get the sause I had last night. SOOOOoooooo I would recommend eating in the restuarant. It is so much better! Don't go for pick-up. You WILL be disappointed. I was!!
Pros: To eat in the resturarant, you are treated better, and get more for your money
Cons: Buying the same food you had the night before for carry out and feeling like you got screwed

This restaurant surpasses all other Japanese restaurants especially for not being located in a Hotel and away from the strip. The decor is really nice like somthing you would see in LA or New York. The staff are all extremely polite and even with my very high maintenance friends they continued to accomodate. The food was nothing short of fabulous. You go there once you will go back!
Pros: service, parking, ambiance

We found this restaurant through CitySearch and noticed the rave reviews. Being a foodie, I decided to check it out the other night. Where I live in Vegas, it's a 9 minute drive on the freeway, so it's close. It's also located in a very nice area of town, which brought my hopes up. Going with a previous review stating that this was better than Nobu--which honestly did not impress me when I went last week--I wanted to see what an off strip Sushi bar could offer.
Walking into the place, you feel like you've steped into a posh Japanese sushi bar. The colors and layout is fantastic, and there are at least four sushi chefs on hand at all times. I loved the menu offerings, from cold and hot appetizers to the infamous hibachi and bento boxes. As any great sushi bar will have, they offer the Americanized rolls but have a beautiful variety of sushi to order. We ordered the Man dai sushi (Japanese snapper) and garlic tuna sushi, along with shrimp & vegetable tempura appetizer, beef teriyaki (cut up ribeye) appetizer, fried gyoza, Nobu special roll, and yellowtail jalapeno sashimi (which they offer at Nobu for three times the price). I have to say that as a person who grew up on a Pacific Island and having access to authentic Asia cuisine, including breathtaking Japanese sushi chefs and their culinary expertise, this place ranks on my top five places in Las Vegas to go for sushi.
Not only were the flavors beautiful and clean, but their service was impeccable, their servers dressed (the women only) in kimonos which added to the authenticity of the restaurant, and the traditional Japanese greetings coming in and leaving. Add on the experience with honest-to-god beautiful and very delictable Japanese cuisines, and you have yourself a fantastic restaurant off the strip that is much better than what the hotels have to offer. I know some people may think that I am exxagerating, but you have to try it to understand the beauty in their food. I give them my personal 5/5
Pros: beautiful setting, great prices, and excellent cuisine.
Cons: for tourists, this may be far off the strip, but it's worth the drive!! TRUST ME!

Sometimes it?s the service that matters. Sometimes it?s the food that brings you back. Whichever the case there?s a good sampling of both to be found at Sushi Loca. I?m a local. I live right across the highway and while I?m not a ?foodie? I do consider myself versed in sushi. I have worked in the business before at a reputable sushi restaurant with classically trained Japanese Sushi chefs who took themselves and their art way too seriously so I have some prior knowledge of what to expect from a good sushi joint. What I know and what I demand I found at Sushi Loca.
I think when we read these reviews we need to take author bias into question. Is the author a snooty ex-Summerlin resident who fauns over anything heralded as five stars by some know-it-all food critic based out of L.A? Is the author a lifted truck driving Southern Californian who?s only desire is cheap beer and all you can eat sushi before heading to the next motocross event? Is either author somehow to be taken not as seriously? Is either candidate somehow disreputable? The answer is no. Take everything you read as a polite suggestion. Read up if you want but don?t skip out on a wonderful local restaurant based on what someone else thinks about it. Going out to eat in a part of town outside of the hubs of the industry is sometimes a difficult endeavor. Hell, out here we?re lucky to have fresh food at all! Take some advice, try Sushi Loca for yourself. I can?t guarantee you?re going to like the Toro- Mr. Shin, the previous commenter was right, it?s a bit awkward but this is a desert so I?m not complaining-but I know you?ll enjoy the friendly staff and the wonderful fare.
Pros: Wonderful Chefs. Clean environment. Excellent food.
Cons: A bit noisy. I wouldn't suggest going on the weekends unless you want to drink and be loud.
