A couple hours ago I treated myself to a birthday dinner at Nobu, the Japanese restaurant at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The food was superb and appeasing both to the eye and the palate. Visually the presentation was a cross between Rembrandt and Michelangelo it started my taste buds dancing with joy from the first glimpse. Each dish was as carefully explained as it was prepared. As I placed each bite into my mouth, my palate was climbing up moonbeams, dancing on clouds, and sliding down rainbows. The food was carefully prepared with the finest ingredients and the flavor was incomparable. I had the one-hundred fifty dollar seven course Chefs? Sampler. I could describe in intricate detail every course, but that would take away from the mystery, that allows one?s imagination to run wild in eager anticipation as you?re awaiting the next course. Suffice it to say a glimpse is all I will divulge, the fois gras and Kobe beef with caviar made my legs nearly commence dancing. The significance of this is a thrice broken back, which has left me partially paralyzed and numb from the waist down. In addition not only is the quality unsurpassed, but the quantity as well. Nobu is a must add to your Bucket List. I?ve eaten at some of the best restaurants in Las Vegas both nouveau and classic. (Restaurants like the Alize? at the Top of the Palms and classic old school Vegas like the Golden Steer, both phenomenal, in my humble opinion.). The wait staff is friendly and accommodating, as well as knowledgeable and informative. I?ve eaten at restaurants from San Diego to Vancouver, BC. My last vice is the enjoyment of cuisines from around the world. Nobu has earned a spot at the top of my list as one of the most enjoyable restaurants I?ve ever experienced and some of the best food I?ve ever had the luxury to consume. (Tonight was my third visit, and the good lord willing, far from my last.) If there are chop sticks in Heaven then Nobu will be there as well.
Pros: Greeat
Cons: NONE

While hubby watched the Penn State Game that he bet on, I spent a few hours at the spa. A local woman in the sauna brought up Hugo's Cellar, and said we must try it. I needed someplace to dress up and go out in that new hot black dress I bought anyway.
Oh my gosh. It was Fantastic! It is located in the basement of the 4 Queens Hotel/Casino on Fremount St. You are greeted with a rose, and waiters in tuxes. It really looks like a cellar, dark, yet lit with candles. You are pampered, and treated with respect. Your salad is made at your table, then you receive a sherbert to clean the palate. :)
The food is wonderful too! It's about $30 a plate, but a must try. I can't wait to go back, on our Vegas trip this year.

We dined at Del Frisco's on a recent trip to Vegas and enjoyed a carnivore's dream feast at the old school steak joint located just off the vegas strip (close to the hard rock hotel). We started off the meal with drinks at the bar and the prices nearly made me spill my drink--$16-$18 martini's. Granted they were large drinks-but that's a big price to pay for a martini.
We moved into a private room for dinner which we were able to reserve for no extra charge with a party of 12. We started off the meal with the seafood sampler (shrimp cocktail, oysters and crabcakes). All were delicious. We then moved on to salads. I ordered the caesar and split it with a friend and thought that the flavor of the dressing was good but too heavy. Next was the beef course. They don't have a huge menu at Del Frisco's-about 6-7 meat options but they are all usda flavorful cuts. I don't have one negative comment on the qualty. I ordered the strip steak which is somewhere in between a rib eye and a filet in terms of flavor and fat content. It was great and cooked to perfection. We ordered the typical sides, potatoes au gratin, creamed spinach and asparagus just to pack on a few extra calories.
As for atmosphere, Del Frisco's looks like a place Tony Soprano would frequent in Northern Jersey. There are no windows, there's a cigar room and the male/female split was about 80/20.
For a bachelor party (assuming this is all males), or for serious steak eaters that care solely about the cut of beef, Del Frisco's is a solid choice. As for me, I weigh the environment a little more heavily so will likely opt for a steak house on the strip or in a hotel next go round.

This restaurant was worth the drive! The burgers were incredible; I had the turkey burger and it was NOT a crappy ground turkey flavorless burger, but a delectable and perfectly cooked burger with a sauce that complimented the turkey. My husband and I were completely blown away by the portions (he had the freshly ground beef). For 12.50 we each had enough for another meal. The breaded deep fried pickles and cheese curds (separate appetizers) were perfect- no hint of heaviness or aftertaste from frying.
I wish I could report on desserts, but there was no room left to sample. We enjoyed the ambiance and service- it was a perfect casual meal and set in Red Rock Casino means that there's plenty to do after eating!
Pros: simple menu- based on creating your own burger.
Cons: can't think of any other than no room for dessert

I can't believe the negative review I just read. First of all, the pink taco is in the hard rock hotel in vegas.... there is no reason to be upset about drunk people speaking explicitly, that's part of the fun! the food is really fantastic..... and the service i've had when i've been there has been great.... and it's def not bad for people over 21, we took my mom there for lunch on her bday and she loved it and her standards for margaritas are some of the highest. This place is so much fun i would recommend it to anyone! If you don't like it, you clearly don't like to have fun....
Pros: Fun Atmosphere, Great Drinks
Cons: nothing.

Ghostbar is a fun trendy spot to hangout at. Not much a dance spot but more of a social spot with hotness all around. Met a lot of cool people. Although my friend was booted due to being overly intoxicated, I do respect that because it's a classier respectable place. (We returned a few hours later) Drinks were good and average price for Vegas. It's definitely a place I will visit each time I do Vegas.
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing

We went through this bar on New Year's Eve 08/09 after reading a review in the local paper, and were certainly not disappointed! It's actually a bit easy to miss this place, as it's off in the Mandalay Place rather than the casino itself. The layout is certainly like a sports bar, but the booths are really comfortable and contain your own TV, which enabled us to see the whole awesome Robbie Maddison display from the Strip in ease (Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, oi oi oi!). Also, the beer selection is worth a look, with a huge imported display and range on draft.
The burgers are custom made to your specifications, and the choice of toppings is plentiful and they give you the price per item up front. The portobello mushrooms were amazing, as were the sweet potato fries, and they got the burger right - I have had steak houses mess up "medium-rare"! Also, save room for dessert, as the chocolate burger is amazing! Also, top marks go to the staff here; we rocked up on NYE with no booking, and only waited 5 minutes for a table; plus, everything came out correct and on time. Seriously, this is the best burger place I've found yet in the U.S. - definitely give it a go!
Pros: Beer selection, burgers, chocolate dessert burger!
