We had lunch at Commander's Palace in Las Vegas. It was the best lunch that either I or my husband have ever had. The staff was fabulous and treated us very well. During lunch, Commander's Palace has 25 cent martinis. They are the real thing and they do different flavors. I had the Cosmopolitan and the chocolate martinis and they were great. Commander's Palace also has a lunch special that they change out every week. For $18.80 you can choose an appetizer, entree and dessert from two choices of each. I had the Tabasco Salmon Beignets, Chicken salad and Bananas Foster. Everything was superb. My husband had the Turtle soup (yep, you read that right, tastes like chicken), the pecan crusted catfish and bread pudding souffle. We are going to make it a tradition to always have lunch at Commander's Palace everytime we go to Vegas.

Of all the wannabe Creole restaurants ont he Strip, this one hits the mark. It IS expensive, so be sure that you are ready for that. If that is expected, you WILL have a great time here. It's namesake is actually in New Orleans, so the food is expected to be as good as it is. The price actually is not bad for what you get, which is authentic Creole cuisine served up with style and panache (and around $65 a person).

I took my wife to Commander's Palace in Vegas for her Birthday in 12/05. I called about a week in advance after doing A LOT of research about restaurants.
We are in Los Angeles, so we make it to Vegas at least 4 times per year. The restaurant is located inside the Dessert Passage (mall portion) of Aladdin Hotel & Casino. You can either walk there or take the bycycle cab for a few bucks.
The person that took my reservation promised to have a special table waiting for us, with a Birthday special arrangement. He didn't lie. When we got there, they asked us to wait about 5-10 minutes while they set everything up. We got the best table in the Garden Room, right by the window. Unfortunately, it's on the ground floor and the view is to the outside street (Strip), so it would be much better if it was up a few floors.
The table was waiting for us with balloons and a ribbon on the table. Room is dark, classy and romantic. Very nice!
Menu is on the smaller side, and a few choices that you have to prepare yourself for (Turtle, Crocodile, etc.), but if you like that sort of food, then you'll really enjoy!
We had pecan encrusted fish, salads, and some great bread they bring to the table. Dessert was fantastic (chocolate cake). They also brought some sort of cookies with a candle for my wife to blow out. Total was around $150 w/tax & tip.
Overall, I would have to suggest this place. Not the cheapest, but I was expecting $200+...so not too bad.
