The El Cortez is in downtown Las Vegas. It is owned by Jackie Gaughan. He used to own several other casinos downtown, but has sold them and the El Cortez is the only one he still owns. The tower rooms in the El Cortez are great. They are very large and very clean. The bathrooms are smaller than usual, but the rooms are sized more like a minisuite than a standard room. The casino is a little small, but very cute. They also have blackjack minimums of $3 a hand all the time. The rooms are very inexpensive. When I stayed there they were $35/night for a Friday and Saturday night.
