I first took my old 1972 Ford F-250 to Leo as a recommendation from my uncle. Right off the bat you could tell the difference from other mechanics. Leo (the owner) was right there at the counter to greet me, along with his wife, Andy, who helps run the place. They were both incredibly friendly, treating me more like a friend than a customer. The atmosphere is always congenial and takes some of the edge off of the oh-so-necessary evils of auto repairs. I have been back so many times since. Even for small, general repairs and oil changes, I still drive the extra 5 miles to Leo (and put up with the atrocious traffic on Decatur) in lieu of the Jiffy Lube half a block from my house. I really couldn't be happier with all of my many experiences at High Tech. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants an **HONEST** straight up, friendly mechanic. Don't be fooled by the tats. Leo's a big ol teddy bear! Pros: Excellent service, incredibly amicable staff, painless Cons: In a fairly busy area.

Was having intermitent starting problems, discovered it was the fuel pump, I also wanted to have my brakes replaced, but after Leo checked he told me it wasn't necessary it still had plently of brake pad left around 30-40%. I have original brakes at 102k, It seems to me if this shop was so dishonest ,he would have replaced my brakes even if it wasn't necessary. Any way fuel pump fixed very reasonable, and warrantied. Oh yea I'm not a relative, just someone who knows a reliable and honest mechanic Pros: Friendly Reliable, Tells it like it is. Cons: He is very busy

Last summer we were having a problem with the air conditioning in the back of our Expedition. The Ford garage wanted to charge a lot, so we decided to wait until this summer to have it fixed. In the mean time we were told about this great mechanic who cared about his customers. We were told he is honest, reasonable, and he would recommend us to someone else if he couldn't fix our problem. Before we took our car into him we talked to him, describing what the problem was. He diagnosed the problem just by listening to us. We took our Expedition in and he fixed it, Leo charged us a lot less then the Ford Garage wanted. Another time we took our car in with a different problem, he couldn't fix it so he sent us to someone he knew that could help us with our problem. We appreciated his honesty and ability to help us with our vehicles. Now when we have a problem with our trailer, etc. we call Leo for a recommendation, so far he has sent us to the right person each time. We have lived in Las Vegas since 1972, we have finally found a mechainc we can trust, who is honest and very dependable, our positive experience has caused us to recommend Leo to our extended family and friends. I am a 30 year native of Las Vegas and have had many different mechanics in the past and none have come close to the personable and reliable service I have received from Leo and his team at High Tech Transmissions and Auto. My Family and I spend days driving our Jeep in the Nevada mountains and deserts and can not afford to have something go wrong way out there. Being a do it your selfer I do most of my own repairs. But when I need a professional I know who I can trust with my vehicles. After my first experience at his shop I have recommended him to all my friends and family and without a single complaint from any of them. My entire family entrust Leo and his team with there vehicles. That sounds like a 100% to me. Pros: Very personable and friendly Cons: Can’t think of one

Was quoted one price on a rebuild over the phone on particular model transmission. When i got there, reaffirmed to owner what the model was ( he tired to get me to agree to a lesser model) and was quoted a price accordingly. After a drop off and $65 diagnosis charge, owner stated price was for cheaper model and quote added up to $900 more. We had already went through what model the truck was twice. Also tried to sell me other parts that according to another shop weren't necessary. , stay away. It appears that the other reviews on this website are in fact set ups by the owner or his accomplices. Simply put, we were sold a part that WE DID NOT NEED for almost $400! After the part was supposedly installed, the same EXACT problem persisted like nothing was done at all. We took it across town where it was diagnosed by an ACTUAL MECHANIC (rather than just a shade tree CON ARTIST). The diagnosis... the noise being made was perfectly normal for that make & model but it did need a little fluid. I guess ol' Leo thought it would be a better idea to charge us for a $400 dollar part before he simply checks fluid levels. OPP$$$!!! The cost for an inspection from an actual Mechanic (not Leo) ... ZERO. Cost for parts... ZERO After poking around a little bit, I have found that these people are NOTORIOUS for ripping people off. They have been known for every personal foul in the book. Don't take my word for anything, please do a little of your own research first as it will probably end up saving you A LOT OT MONEY. So to sum it up, these people should either teach classes to incompetent "mechanics" on how to rip people off or just get jobs as Carnies & get it over with. I would rather enter my car in a Demolition Derby than to take it back to High Tech Transmissions & Auto... it would be much cheaper. And please... pay no mind to the other 25+ canned "sock puppet" reviews here... (e-mail accounts sure are cheap these days!) I have a pretty good idea where they came from. Pros: Freindly Con Artists. Ever meet one that wasen't? Cons: Yup. They're CONS alright.

My wife and I entrusted HIGH-TECH TRANSMISSIONS & PERFORMANCE to radically modify our classic Mustang. They gave us a detailed estimate on the engine and tranny and we were pleasantly surprised that the total cost was a bit lower than expected. HIGH-TECH stands behind their work. We received everything they promised and more. When we were looking for a place to do the work, we asked around for a good local company. Quite a few people turned us on to HIGH-TECH. We are so glad we chose them. We now have one of the hottest cars in Las Vegas. No matter if it's a HOT ROD or Late Model vehicle.....We can definatly say "GO TO HIGH-TECH TRANSMISSIONS".
