My coworkers and I went here for lunch recently. Clara's has a very extensive menu. They also have their own type of fries known as Clara's fries. They are slices of baked potato that are deep fried. I ordered them and they were delicious. I loved the atmosphere as well. The restaurant is very old and nostalgic as it used to be an actual train station at one time.

I have sat in the loft and on the main floor but haven't had the pleasure of eating in the train yet. I go there everytime I'm in Lansing.

My husband and I were visiting Lansing and didn't know where to go for food. Everything was closed but the fast-food joints. While driving around downtown we saw this place and decided to give it a try. What a good decision! The menu has a broad range of choices, and the food is good. But the best thing about this place is the place itself. It's a restored train station + a train coach. The place has been decorated beautifully, with antiques bought in the US and Europe. Beautiful objects can be seen everywhere. It's so nice to be in a place that was created with true love and dedication. The place is a must see. Take your camera with you. Pros: Ambiance, Parking Cons: The space is huge, and so difficult to warm up. Take a sweater with you during the winter.

Wide and varied menu. Sunday brunch...what a spread! Historical setting...you might even be seated in the train itself (although I like sitting in the loft the best). Summertime allows for patio seating, too. Make a reservation Friday through Saturday. We usually don't, and end up having to wait in the depot. We also like that they can accommodate large groups. Great menu, great service, great ambience. Clara's has it all.
