I've been taking my dog to Lakewood Animal Hospital for the past 5 years and have always wanted to switch but just finally did it and I am so glad I did. The staff (most but not all) at Lakewood Animal Hospital are not very patient. My dog is terrified of the vet and cannot be rushed into doing anything without shutting down, but they do not understand this. They get impatient when he does not listen immediately. Their only advice is to recommend training that I have already tried but does not work. I wonder if he is just terrified of this vet or all vets. Unless you have a perfectly behaved animal, I would not recommend this facility.

Lakewood Animal Hospital does have a knowledgeable staff and the facility is very nice. We had positive experiences with basic, routine checkups for our older dog and two cats. When we adopted a puppy this summer, she became very ill and had some sort of digestive parasite with parvo-like symptoms. The staff did get her back to health (for which we are very grateful for!) but upon her return to us, she had an open wound on the back of her neck. When asked about the incident, the staff blatantly tried to cover it up and claimed she came in with the mark. It then came out, that the mark was from an elizabethan collar that had rubbed against her skin. It is understandable, that something like that could happen. What we didn't appreciate was the dishonesty we experienced. I wouldn't recommend this business. PROS: Knowledgeable, nice facility CONS: Expensive

The staff is kind towards animals and truly goes above and beyond expectations to give thorough examinations, make sure your pet is in good health, and recommend the appropriate products based on your pet's individual needs. They treated the ear mites in a stray cat's ears I took in for myself, and detected a cold my adopted kitten picked up at the APL. I'm very happy with their services.

I've taken my cats to this facility and their sister practice, The Cat Clinic. Excellent care at each facility. The staff and vets are great and really seem to know not only what they're doing, but how to calm down a nervous "parent!" Excellent treatment by staff and vets alike. I definitely feel like my girls get to-notch treatment from this facility. I wouldn't hestitate to take any of my animals in, and I've often recommended them to friends.

Staff is always very accommodating and kind towards my animals and me. The vets are top notch and take excellent care of their patients. I've never had a problem or an issue either getting my animals in for treatment or quality of care issues. Care is always top notch and they are always eager to take care of their patients in need! I would definitely recommend this facility to anybody looking for a quality vet in the Lakewood area.
