I use CVS for my prescription needs. I like this drugstore because they carry a lot of different items. They carry a lot of the things a person needs. The CVS on W. 117th street in Lakewood has a large health and beauty section. They carry a large assortmet of makeup, haircoloring, perfume and bath & body items. They also have a photo section in the store. It's just a neat drugstore.

I have taken my cats to this veterinary clinic since I adopted them from the APL in 2003. They have always received excellent care from the vets and staff alike. Also, vets and staff have wonderful "bedside manners" with the "parents," too! I had a wonderful relationship with this practice until I moved out of the area. All my future vets will have this standard to live up to!

I discovered this dentist several years ago and love him. I had my first root canal done here and have had a couple more and have never felt a thing, not even the novacaine going in. Even though my present insurance does not totally cover the costs due to the fact that this dentist is not a part of thier network I would never switch. Even though I hate going to the dentist I will go to him because he is awesome. He is also a very funny guy and that puts you at ease. He gives you gifts on your first visit and also supplies drinks and fresh baked cookies.

I originally started taking my prescriptions here just because it was close to my apartment, but now that I've moved halfway across Lakewood, about a minute's walk from the other DM, I still come back here. Why? Because I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes to get a prescription filled. The pharmacy technicians are all reasonably friendly (though I wouldn't say that any of them are outstandingly so), and that is important. Last year I went in to refill my birth control prescription to find that I had none left, which sent me into an absolute panic because it was the weekend and I needed to start the new cycle THAT DAY. The pharmacist was nice enough to fill it for me anyway and just call it in to my doctor on Monday morning. I was extremely grateful, as you can imagine.
DM's prescription prices are also almost always the lowest I can find in the area. I definitely recommend this pharmacy to others. Note: this is the DM across from the Lakewood Public Library on Detroit, NOT the one near 117th.
Pros: short wait time, great prices
Cons: closes early on Sunday

I really like to shop at Discount Drug Mart. They have been around for a long time, for as long as I can remember. They carry many other things in their store other than prescriptions and medicine and ordinary things that most drug stores carry. At Discount Drug you can pay your bills, buy money orders and play the lottery. They really do have a lot to offer their customers. The prices are good to.

Dr. Skoch was recommended to me by my OB/GYN when I was pregnant -- not as a referral, but as the pediatrician my OB took her own children to see. Recommendations don't come much higher than that! Dr. Skoch and Sherry Wick have been wonderfully patient, competent and thorough every time I've been to the office. My oldest son is now 6 years old, and his little 4-year-old brother both love going to the doctor. My boys love the pretzel sticks.
Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Dr. Skoch or everybody who works in that office.

I like this Tops compared to any other. And the fact that it is 24 hours is awesome because we have used that before especially with a sick child. It is clean and friendly and everything is where is should be instead of one thing here and the other thing over to the other side of the store. the only thing is they never have enough baggers.

Lakewood Hospital is one of the best hospitals in the city. I had to go to the Maternity Unit as an interpreter for a patient. The nurses were really helpful with the patient I was there for; they came in immediately after being buzzed and didn’t seem bothered by the high volume of work. Although the hospital is small, it has a community feeling.
