Barona employment strategies are a little on the Gustapo side. They make you study these things called "Core Values" and then dont follow the same values. They recently fired their Executive Chef. The food qualifty is going down hill as their purchasing staff is not able or confident to get the right product. I am totally disabpointed with the entire reservation. They also have to keep coming up with promotions because people are not going out there. I wish i could give it 2 thumbs down.
Also, they are having trouble getting a liquor license. I cant imagine Wildcat Canyon Rd with a liquor license. It is allready the most dangerous rd in the nation. Google it and you will see.
Pros: Not much
Cons: Purchasing Staff is cold and manipulative

I am not one that usually likes buffets in general. But you really need to give this one a try. They have every type of food you can imagine: Italian, Mexican, Chinese, soup, salad bar, and a dessert station. The soup and salad bar were my favorite by far, everything was fresh and tasty. The dessert bar had a chocolate cake that was very good also. The service was not as good as I expected, but would not stop me from going back. If you like buffets give them a try!

If you are looking for a great steak come and give the Barona Oaks Steak House a try. The food is high quality and delicious. I have tried the steak and the lobster on different occasions and they both were great. The staff was very attentive and anticipated our every need. It is inside the casino so no need to dress up, you will see people dressed in an array of styles. Make reservations if you do not want to wait.

Barona claims to have the loosest blackjack tables. Every time I do play blackjack, I come up. The buffet is also good (even better with a comp discount), they have a good variety of foods.

Probably one of the best casinos outside of Vegas out there. I like the atmosphere of Barona. It's very country like, but yet has that vegas/casino feel to it. They have lots of slot machines and they serve you juice & other drinks while you are playing. The buffet is okay, and you get discounts if you're a club barona member.

This San Diego Casino is one of the nicest around if you consider its golf course, hotel, and its amount of games. Its about half and hour to forty minutes away from Downtown SD, so it's definitely closer than Vegas. Though the drive itself may take a while if there's traffic when you get there the entire scene changes. The resort/casino is really a beautiful place and it seems like it doesn't fit in the valley but once you go inside you forget about that. Their hotel rooms are nice and if you stay there you can use the pool, fitness center and they have a spa. Food selection is so-so, with buffet being the best bet if you're staying there. The other restaurants don't offer too much selection but probably enough if you're only visiting for the day. The casino is pretty big, with all sorts of games, slots, table/cards, a poker room and much more. I usually go there for the poker and there's usually a wait if you get there at night, especially on weekends. I'd highly recommend signing up for their club card if you are planning on playing any game whether it's a machine (slots) or table (black jack/poker, etc). You earn points for every bet at machines or every hour you're at the table and those add up if you're a grinder. Points can turn into rewards, getting comped, and discounts. Overall the place is really nice and is a good get away if you're not willing to drive to Vegas.
