This is my favorite of the Indian casinos around the San Diego area. It seems to have the best atmosphere, and the friendliest people. The off track betting area is nice. Pretty good food court with a variety of foods, and the buffet is outstanding. I love going on Fridays for seafood and crab.Every station serves high quality food, fresh and delicious. And if you have a sweet tooth, you will be amazed at the selection. They even have an assortment of sugar free desserts, or fruits and cheeses. They get very busy on weekends so go early.

Barona has everything that Vegas has but much closer!
If you like table games or slots, you can find a lot to do. Barona is great for the perks too! Always use your players club card and you can build up your points for free food and lots of other great things like free rooms and concerts. We have gone to several concerts for free because of our points! The hotel is first class with beautiful rooms, great service, and great views of the valley. If you're hungry, you are sure to find the kind of food you want from the many kinds of restaurants inside the casino. They range from a buffet with five different stations, to an elegant steakhouse, authentic chinese cuisine, or several fast food places that serve pizza, burgers, and tacos. As you arrive to the casino, you are greeted with a smile and a welcome from a friendly host.
If you like a Vegas style get away but closer to home, I'd definitely recommend Barona

Barona Ranch Resort & Casino is a great destination get-away. Besides being in a fabulous setting, its unique physical design - that of a beautiful working farm, circa 1930s - makes it appear warm and inviting. Inside the casino and the hotel, the decor continues with warm woods, beautiful carpets, massive beams, rural antiques and Indian artifacts. The buffet is excellent, serving high quality foods from around the world. If you get a Barona Club Player's Card, you are eligible for a discounted meal at the buffet. Slots are generous with many winners on a regular basis. The downstairs Bingo hall is separated for smokers and non-smokers. Bingo can be played with paper and stamping, but I prefer the electronic Bingo. There are many winners each game. For an extra $3.00 you can play for a couple of extras, including a blackout game worth $100,000. This is not a game usually won, but I actually did see a woman win this one year. Barona is so far a dry casino, meaning there is no bar. Due to its rural setting, it is considered potentially dangerous area in which to have drunk drivers. Believe me, it does not take away from the overall experience of staying there. For a complete preview of the place, check out www.baronacasino.com.

Featuring a rustic, ranch exterior (replete with a creek, water wheel feature, a and a grain silo), the casino's interior is a lively contrast to the relaxing hotel: ringing slot machines, bustling tables and lots of action. Unlike the segmented floors at Viejas and Sycuan, Barona's 310,000 square-foot casino floor is wide open and more Vegas-like. Now, I'm the first to admit I'm not much of a gambler, but I had much fun trying my hand at the wide range of slots. I also found an electronic roulette (my favorite) machine to bide my time (like the other Indian casinos, due to state law, Barona offers a table variation of Vegas roulette.
Of course, whether you're at an Indian casino or in Las Vegas, a staple of any venue is the buffet. Never a big buffet person - the food always seems a bit hit-and-miss - I have to say Barona's Ranch House Buffet is one of the best buffets I've experienced.

Barona can definitely save you a trip to Las Vegas if you're looking for a good casino that's close. Just a short drive east on Interstate 8, and you're in a fun spot with plenty of slots and table games. Friendly dealers and servers can be found throughout. There are also several good restaurants to eat at when you get hungry. Haven't stayed in the hotel, but I've heard it's great as well.

Barona, after their remodeling a few years ago, is a great place to gamble. Although this casino is more geared toward those who are willing to put down a lot of money, those who are not can still have a good time. With a plethora of loose slots and card tables, you are bound to have a great time here. The service is great and the atmosphere is great for gambling.

They have a good selection of games, the only problem is that on busy nights, there are long waits for the lower priced tables, and they also remove some of the lowest priced tables on those nights as well. Top it off; its a far drive for most people in San Diego County. But if you go on a slow night with a group of friends, it can be a fun way to blow a hundred bucks.

My first trip to the Barona Casino was when I was 19 years old and a very exciting experience considering gambling is usually limited to those 21+. Now that I am 21 I still consider Barona Casino to be a quality casino. There are a bunch of slot machines and card tables. During the weekends it can get busy, but I have not had too much trouble finding a machine. The live music is also pretty fun. If you are looking for something different to do, try the Barona Casino!
