No one in my family has ever thought that they would enjoy, let alone try sushi or other raw fish entrées at a Japanese restaurant. This gem of a little restaurant in Lake Hiawatha tries so hard to appeal to the local area and I've never felt so welcome in any establishment. Everyone who enters the door is greeted by a hearty & happy welcome cheer. But it's the food and the preparation/presentation that is surprisingly excellent for such a little place. I've paid much much more for sushi in other restaurants. Now my kids are no longer teenagers and one has moved out of town, but they always want to visit Miya Sushi on Beverwyck Rd across the street from the firehouse. They have grown to love the way they prepare and serve the food and the customers. They have one entrée called "Godzilla" . . it's my favorite. My wife loves the "sunny rolls". If it's too crowded, they have take-out service too.
