After strolling around with my family along the beautiful beaches of La Jolla we stumbled upon this gem. My wife and daughter were pleased to find a vegetarian menu here and I highly enjoyed the chicken scharma served here. For an appetizer I highly recommend the mezza plate which offered a variety of middle eastern plates like hummus, falafel, and baba ghanouage. Wish all the same experience we were thrilled to have.
Pros: healthy food, great ambience, stunning view
Cons: hookah wasn't available until later that night

I used to know the daughter of the family that ran this restaurant. I think that it is owned by some one else now, but they did not change much. The staff is still really nice and there is a wide variety of food. I love their orange chicken. It is a lot nicer on the inside as well so I wouldn't take little kids, they kind of get annoyed when there is a baby crying.

Islands is one of the few off campus options for UCSD students without car transportation, and I have a lot of fond memories from freshman year there. It has many more non beef options than any other burger place I know, and everything I've tried on their menu is delicious. The prices are a bit higher than normal for burgers but worthwhile for their large size, all the fixings, and great taste. They also have my favourite version of oriental chicken salad and a great deal on a giant plate of tasty fries. The island atmosphere is also quite fun, and service has always been excellent.

We came here to celebrate for a friend and it was a nice Thai restaurant. Being in La Jolla, the food is not too expensive. There is a coupon on the Dollar stretcher which helped save us some money as well. All the dishes had Vegetarian options. I had my favorite, the pad sewee and it was a good choice.

I use to buy Peets coffee when they were located in a really out-of-the-way location in downtown San Diego. A place to hang out, read the paper, read a book, and have conversation with some different kind of folks. A really special place -- more like San Francisco relaxed atmosphere of an earlier time than the up-scale pretentiousness of today's San Diego. Well they moved out as San Diego became emerged in its South of France of the USA development motif. Rediscovering Peets at this La Jolla location was great. Now, just for the coffee though. Better than Starbuck's. Perhaps, it's the memories of the earlier Peets that give it that special Ah-h-h-h. Much of the ambiance is gone, but the coffee is a cut above the rest!
