George's is the perfect spot for late summer dinner in La Jolla. Sitting on the upper deck, you have a bird's eye view of the Pacific coast. Try the mussels for an appetizer -- excellent. The spaghetti with clams was great for dinner.
If you're in La Jolla and in the mood to splurge a bit, George's is the perfect spot.

From the second we reaced the door, our expectations were met and exceeded at Whisknladle. Our server was very knowledgable and explained the philosophy of the owner and restaurant. The food was amazing! The "Cutting Board" was excellent, and featured house cured and prepared meats and cheeses that were some of the best my wife and I had ever had. The flatbread pizza was very good as well. We got an additional side of veggies (locally organically grown, like most food here) which was also stupendous. The veggies including yellow squash, zuccini, corn, green beans, and eggplants. For dessert, my wife and I split a scoop of the chocolate peanut butter ice cream, which included some berries and a wafflecone-esque cup. Completely out of this world! All throughout our meal, servers would stop by very often and ask how we were doing or take our empty dishes. Highest recommendations!
Pros: Excellent, inventive food and wonderful service
Cons: A little pricey, but you get what you pay for!

I took my girlfriend here for our anniversary, and it was really romantic and the perfect place for it. I made the reservation a few weeks in advance and mentioned it was for an anniversary. As soon as we walked in, the hostess took us to a really nice table in a room with a lot of wines on the wall. It was very cozy. Our waiter stopped by and told us about some of the specials and then got us some drinks. We both had a wine by the glass since I like red and my girlfriend likes white. Both were very good and matched up with our food well. I had the NY steak which had a really nice wine sauce that was perfect for my red wine. My girlfriend had the halibut, which she said was light and went with her wine, too. The server brought out a special dessert for us with a candle to celebrate our anniversary, which I thought was a nice touch. A lot of places don't seem to go that extra mile to make you feel special, but they did. Even though the restaurant was really busy, our waiter and bus person did a great job on checking on us and making sure we were taken care of. I really couldn't think of any cons to our great night here!

Burger Lounge is my absolute favorite burger destination! They serve up fresh, juicy, organic burgers and cuisine in a fun and spunky atmosphere! My favorite is the basil infused turkey burger with a 1/2 & 1/2 order of garlic and herb fries and onion rings, but be prepared for the calories because they also serve up fabulous red velvet cupcakes that definitely take the cake!! All in all amazing food, great service, and reasonable pricing makes Burger Lounge a new hot spot for me!
Pros: Fresh organic burgers & fun ambiance!

The Marine Room is one of the most beautiful experiences of fine dining in all of La Jolla. Resting right along side the beach the sun sets a gorgous shine on the water and the sound of the waves hitting against the side of the rocks sets a relaxing atmosphere to just enjoy a great meal with your friends and family. This sounds nice and innocent right? The Marine room tries to claim the beach in front of their restaurant as theirs. They claim it by putting their beach chairs and umbrellas for their guests on the beach and asking any local who sits there to move. While their service is great their hospitality to the locals are not and they need to learn that the money is not always everything!

My husband and I love this place, and have taken most of our friends along over the course of the year because we love it so much we want them to love it too. I don't eat red meat, so I eat out to sushi a lot, have tried every sushi restaurant in the UTC/mira mesa area, and can tell you that their taste is the best. Also, at buy 3 get one free we have tried them all! Well, most of the menu. btw, they have take-out, and menus for it.
See, this place is awesome, because they have seasonal specials too. Well, besides the fact that they have such an original menu compared to other surrounding sushi places. For example, right now around fall, they probably have their monster beach roll. Oh, and you know how some sushi restaurants how they use those cheap little panko japanese bread flakes for the crunchy rolls? Not here. At the yummy box(fun name:) they use tempura=much better. Also, their special yummy sauce is the bombbbBBMMM! Oh, yummy-boxes are good too, and very filling for really cheap. Service is always up to par, but being a hole-in-the-wall type place(not like the decor isn't cute), there are only one or two people serving. I would give it a 5 as far as sushi restaurants go. btw, if you are reading this, yummy-maki people, I love you guys, and never leave...I'll be sad:(
