This hippie-hang may be short on service, with (reggae) tunes bumpin' on the tiny speakers and a "locals only" sorta vibe, but don't let atmosphere deter you from that must-have mexican fix! Fabulous blackened fish tacos, vegetarian options, open late, the best guacamole on earth (fresh diced avocado, onion, cilantro, tomatoes)--I just can't say enough! They'll only offer "mild, medium, or hot" sauce when you pick up your order, but ask for the green "salsa verde" if you like medium hot: by far the most flavorful of the three (ok, I haven't tried the hot...I'll admit it). Make it part of your afternoon in Laguna Beach--you won't regret it!

If you're ever in Laguna Beach, don't waste your time at a stuffy restaurant. Make sure you go to Taco Loco! The name doesn't do it justice! The menu is so different and everything is so good!. Pretty much everything comes with avocado salsa on it. My favorite is the tofu burger with the salsa that comes with tortilla chips. Yummy!

Taco Loco bas organic, healthy Mexican food at a ridiculously cheap price. Plus you get to sit outside on PCH at stare at the ocean while enjoying your blackened mahi mahi taco. Yummy. Everything comes with homemade guacamole and your choice of salsas. They have daily specials that are at an even cheaper price. Everything on the menu is great. You can't go wrong with the Loco. (You can even get a beer if you sit inside the fences ... zoning rules.)

Might not sound like the greatest thing, but the mushroom tofu burgers is FANTASTIC! Nachos are great to share and of course the normal tacos and such are delicious too. Portions are a good size and a friendly staff. Go when it is warm outside because there really is no inside seating area. Street parking only.

getting into laguna beach from inland is never that fun. we just don't go there in the summer because of the sawdust festival and the crowds. but once you do get in there, it's all about taco loco and the blackened tofu and mushroom burger. it's a little bit of a pain to park, but you may as well walk around while you're there. the stuff at taco loco is cheap and good. they also have good beers. the meals aren't huge and the place itself is not the cleanest, but i've never gotten sick and it's really become a staple for a lot of vegetarian folks. i've had the calamari as well, but i just can't get enough of the tofu mushroom. oh yeah, it's mostly outside seating, so not too great in cold, rainy weather. open late...i think 2am.
