I have been going to Taco Loco for years now, and can always realy on their food. Monday nights they have a deal on the Tofu Mushroom burgers and on Wednesdays you can get pasta which is not normally on the menu. I recommend the Tofu Mushroom or chicken pasta, which is chock full of veggies like broccoli and carrots, with a mystery green sauce. If you are really hungry try the nachos, they are huge and come with real melted cheese not the crappy ballpark kind. The vegan cookies are really good too.. even if you are not vegan.
Pros: Right across the street from the beach, fast and easy, to-go orders
Cons: Can be really cold outside in the wintertime

I love Zinc, especially for breakfast and coffee! They have amazing oatmeal, quiches, specialty coffee, fresh fruit and scones. Try a Sunrise, a great juice drink made fresh. Enjoy a patio garden for seating and chat with the locals. Stop next door to the market and grab some lunch to go. Zinc is a must for breakfast, or anytime. They are a little pricey, but you'll be happy you visited.

Despite having been here several times, we are guilty of ordering the same thing on every occasion...the specialty swordfish sampler. It is soooooooo good. Make sure you take a friend to split it with though as it's an extremely generous portion. They have really reasonable prices on bottles of wine too. It's a family owned and run restaurant and the service is very good and friendly but the host/owner isn't taking any stick from anyone which made us smile. it can get a little warm during the summer months, but the over all ambiance is very authentic and definitely worth a visit.
Pros: Amazing swordfish, friendly service, unique atmosphere
Cons: can get a little warm on hot days

El Cajellon offers some of the most delicious, authentically prepared Mexican cuisine in Orange County, with an emphasis on fresh, high-quality ingredients.
When you first sit down, you are given a basket of homemade chips with a tomatillo salsa and a pico de gallo. The PDG is pretty standard, but the tomatillo salsa is tangy, mildly spicy with lots of garlic and onions. Make sure your date eats some too!
If you like pork, try the Cochinita Pibil, which consists of pork marinated in a deep, rich, spicy red sauce, garnished traditionally with pickled onion slices. A truly fabulous dish. If spice is not your thing, the tampiquena offers thinly sliced skirt steak marinated in mild spices and served with light, fluffy rice and beans and your choice of tortillas. For breakfast, El Cajellon offers chilaquiles (thinly sliced fried corn tortillas cooked in a spicy sauce and served with scrambled eggs) that will get your motor running.
For the less adventuresome, the menu also includes the tacos and fajitas. However, El Cajallon takes it up a notch with the use of high quality, fresh ingredients that light up your palate with flavor.
El Cajellon offers about 60 different tequilas, and margaritas pack a wallop that will require a jaunt around the block or down to the board walk before getting into your car to drive home. At the end of your meal, be sure to leave room for the home made flan. Yeah, I know what you're thinking. Flan schman big deal. But seriously, El Cajellon's flan puts creme brulee to shame. It has a nice, custard structure with a deep, vanilla flavor and is beautifully caramelized to give it a rich sweetness that simply melts in your mouth.
With a glass ceiling, wide flung windows and view of the ocean, El Cajellon offers a truly memorable dining experience. Why fight the crowds at Javiers when you can get better quality food in the heart of quaint, downtown Laguna?
Pros: Food, Flavor, Drinks, Service, Ambiance
Cons: Parking, Can be pricey depending on what you get
