My friend and I are from out of town and everyone told us to eat there, so naturally we did. Our waitress asked what we wanted as soon as we sat down and I had barely looked at the menu. She also gave us one menu between my friend and I, I did not understand why we couldn't have to separate menus.
She brought us water but didn't take our order so we just ordered from the sushi chef who was much nicer then our waitress.
She basically ignored us the rest of the night, she was busy taking shots with the guy next to us at the bar. She occasssionally reached over us to fill our waters with out sayign excuse me. We asked for our bill and gave her our cards and then as we were signing them she had forgotten she ran our card and snatched the bill booklet back.
We only tipped her $2 on a $40 tab and gave the sushi chef $8 because he was the one who did all the work.
I would probably not go back there unless it was happy hour. Also make sure Alicia or Alisha is not your waitress, she is HORRBILE!
Pros: Fast service at the sushi bar, good rolls
Cons: Overpriced, horrible waitress, cramped seating

My friend I went for the $20 all you can eat sushi deal, but when we got there it was empty. We had checked the time and day online and everything and apparently so had others because people were walking by and in and nobody was there. Because of this we had to find another sushi place which was a billion times better.

I discovered Mosun after overhearing some guys at the beach say they were getting all-you-can-eat sushi for $20. My boyfriend and I have been regulars ever since. The sushi is fresh and of good quality but you can't beat the price. There are different sushi specials almost every night of the week. A few nights a week there are also drink specials. We like to sit at the sushi bar and talk to the sushi chefs. We've gone so many times they even know us by name. I've gone to Club M a few times too but if I'm driving all the way to Laguna, I'm going for the sushi. Best bets - Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday nights. No matter what night you go - ask for a Hurricane Roll.

Located in the heart of Laguna Beach, Mosun is very popular, very trendy. The crowd is always very young. They offer many different specials depending on what night of the week you go on. The sushi chefs are fun and entertaining, but the sushi is just average. At night, due to Club M upstairs, it gets very loud and crowded, sometimes a bit too loud. Best to go with a local on local's night.

I went here last night with my friend and we put our names in for the dining room. Angela at the front said we'd have to wait at least 30 minutes for a table and instead suggested the overly-crowded, badly-lit sushi bar. We declined and said we'd have a drink at the bar until our table was ready. 10 minutes later, we saw her seat a couple in the DINING ROOM. I asked her why they were seated before us when they came in AFTER us. She said that they had put their name in earlier that evening and had come back, giving them priority. I did not believe her because she was flustered when explaining. I asked her when our table would be ready and she said a few minutes. I went back to the bar and within 5 minutes I saw her seat another group in the dining room! I didn't want to wait anymore so we decided to pay our bar bill and leave. When we were getting up from the bar, she came over and said our table was ready (after she seated 2 groups before us) and I told her thanks, but we're leaving. The smirk on her face was obvious and without saying a word or questioning why we were leaving, she slammed the menus back into their box and attended to the next couple that came up to ask for a table. Angela is a detriment to this restaurant and will surely lose business in the future. She has no idea what customer service is and her high-and-mighty attitude is not well-received by patrons. I won't ever come back to this restaurant. I love sushi and eat out every night of the week, but will take my business elsewhere.
Cons: Bad service, run-down atmosphere, employees rude, gawking gross men

I've never been on a weekend... but MONDAY is for sure the best day to go... oh yeah, don't order a bunch of sushi and not eat it... I think they charge you!! thats good, they don't like to waste food.
Pros: sushi chef was cool
Cons: parking, a little crowded.

We were very excited to go to Mosun for my friend's 27th Birthday last saturday night. We sat down at 8 with our party of 8 for what we had hoped would be the beginning of a great night. Not only were our food orders incorrect, our waiter rude and rarely seen...but with food still on our plates and while we were preparing to order more drinks, our waiter appeared to tell us that we had an hour and a half time limit at that table and would need to be leaving. Never mind the time during the night that we had waited on him, then he continued to tell us that the hostess and the person we made the reservations with should have informed us of this policy.
Not only did he make no point of acknowledging my friends birthday (which we told him of right away) but then he continued to give us poor service and literally kick us out before our food was finished. We decided to stay at the club since we had already driven a long distance to eat at the restaurant. We continued to spend a large amount of money upstairs, which part of could have been his had he given us any type of service.
I'm not sure of your policy or your hiring standards (we did not run into further service issues upstairs) but for a night that we had hoped would be great really started off on a negative start. This is one party of 8 that have no intentions of recommending Mosun to anyone or going there again.
Overpriced for the service and food!
Pros: DJ

I have been coming to Mosun/Club M in Laguna Beach, California for a little over 3 years now. Every time I went I made a reservation and as soon as I got there I was seated immediately. The drinks were amazing, service was fantastic, and the food was terrific. I have even had dinners there with parties up to 40 people. I have thrown birthday dinners for myself and for friends there but this past Saturday, Mosun really messed up. I made a reservation 2 weeks in advance and confirmed everything the day before. The reservation was for my best friend?s birthday dinner for a party of 25 at 9:00pm. When I made the reservation I told them where we wanted to sit and who we wanted to serve us. Half of our party was there on time and ready to be seated but the hostess said that the whole party had to be there for them to even clear the table. The table should have already been cleared and ready for our arrival!!! Anyways so myself along with the rest of the party arrived at 9:10 and they finally started cleaning the table off. We waited almost a half an hour for them to get rid of the people that were sitting there and to clear the table off before we were finally seated. The service was horrible, they were bringing out things we didn?t even order, our waitress(was not the one we requested)was rude, they wouldn?t even serve me drinks even though I?m 21 years of age now but they have been serving me drinks since the age of 19. Everything was just all wrong.
Pros: Good music, Good sushi
Cons: Parking, Service

Trendy and hip, but the girl at the door was awful. We requested to sit at the bar, which was empy and she made us wait while she seemed really confused and didn't know what she was supposed to do. Overall bad somewhat snooty vibe by some of the servers and i'm not sure that this place lives up to its snootyness. There are alot hotter bars and restaurants than this place that take a much more sophistocated approach to food, service and ambiance. The sushi was not good and fell apart. Fun music and atmosphere, but that's about all this place offers. It's more of a club atmosphere so don't wear sweatpants because you might feel a little out of place.
