Family owned business located on the slopes of Haleakala on Maui. Very good selection of flowers and excellent people to deal with. Since George Goble grows the flowers and ships directly to his customers the prices tend to be better.
PROS: Nice people with an exotic collection of flowers.

Tedeschi Vineyards is located 2000 feet up on Haleakala Crater on Maui. The drive to the winery is alone worth the trip as one gets to enjoy scenic Upcountry Maui. Being up so high also allows sweeping views of Central and West Maui. You'll be so busy looking around you that you may miss the winery (we did)! Allow time to walk the grounds at the vineyards and really breathe in the air. We ate lunch at the nearby Ranch store, then headed to Tedeschi's Tasting Room. Complimentary tasting is offered (we sampled 4 wines) and boxes are offered for travelers interested in bringing Maui's wines home. A definite destination for anyone (wine lover or not) who visits Maui.

Located on the drive to or from Haleakala Crater, you'll pass Sunrise Protea Farms, where they actually grow the flowers. They offer an excellent selection of plants and cut flowers that make a great hostess gift or can be mailed for a special occasion. They are knowledgeable and helpful and will assist you in finding what you want for yourself or as a gift. A favorite stop for visitors, but for special occasions locals will stop by to make sure they, too, get only the best flowers.

This place has the most knowledgable staff when it comes to horses. Before you even get to ride, they have you fill out a questionnaire about height, weight, etc. They ask you this because the horse that you get depends on your height and weight. The tour guides are extremely prepared and professional. They just want you to have fun, but safely. They have tours going into Haleakala Crater or just a picnic ride to the ranch. Lunch is included in the price of the ride. Rides last for around 2 hours long.
