This is the most amazing hotel I've ever stayed in. You never have to go outside--unless syou want to use the swimming pool. The atrium has three distinct areas representing various sections of Florida, and you can walk the trails through each section. There is an abundance of plant and animal life to be seen, including a section full of baby alligators. The restaurants are varied and the Java Coast coffee shop offers very reasonbly-priced salads and sandwiches if you don't feel like a full meal. There are shops to browse (albeit a bit on teh pricey side), a nice health club, and more. I can't wait to go back!

I actually look forward to this business trip.

The restaurants are great and the atmosphere is very relaxed.
i would definitely book this for personal vacation or a company meeting!

If you have done the Disney/Sea World/Universal Studios thing but still want to come to Orlando, come to Gaylord Palms. It is in and of itself a resort! You won't ever have to leave the place and you can have a true vacation experience. The hotel is divided in different sections, each representing a different environment...and there are restaurants that go along with each theme. I went with my parents before I graduated high school and I opted for a day at the spa there instead of going to a theme park -- it was the best decision ever! The guy who did hair used to work with Farrah Fawcett and the equipment and products they used were the latest and greatest. One of the best resort experiences -- even down the room service and bellhop when you check in. It may run a little more, but you definitely get what you pay for here!

I was on a business trip with important clients so naturally we went to the "nicest" hotel the area could offer. The hotel is beautiful and unique, but service was worse than imagined. Forget calling for the front desk or business center to bring you something because over the course of two days they never delivered a package to the room- instead they misplaced it and took almost 45 minutes to find it (after I had to personally walk to both the front desk and business center to retrieve it). After checking out on the last day the bell service took over an hour to come to the room after numerous calls and then the hotel forgot to load the baggage into the back of the car and we were unaware until we reached our next destination and missed our flight in order to get it back. I understand that the size of the hotel is like running a small city, but the staff need to follow through with their communication and make sure actions like loading luggage are complete. Hopefully the service will improve because the hotel itself is beautiful.
Pros: You don't even have to leave the hotel if it's raining outside-atrium hotel with amazing interior
Cons: Service, hotel communication & follow-thru, don't expect to be in a hurry here

The Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center is fantastic. Just walking inside of the atrium makes you feel like you are in another world, it definately represents the diversity and beauty of Florida. In addition to the ambience and atmosphere of the resort, the restaurants are amazing, specially the Sunday brunch. It is hard to not like and enjoy the impressive selection and great cuisine experience at the brunch. Great for any occasion and worth coming back every Sunday.
Pros: great location, for the family, just beautyful.
