Last week during the "lovely" windstorms we had just prior to the snow and ice I had a disturbing home owner experience. One of my neighbors was kind enough to run over to my door to let me know that a skylight was hanging over the edge of my roof held on only by a gutter that it had lodged into. My house is a little over 3 stories tall so this was a BIG problem.
Patrick Howe, owner of Artisan, is a contractor that I recommend frequently when helping out clients who are about to go on market or who've just bought a home. In this case I was very happy to have him as a good contact because he luckily was near my area (I'm on Phinney, he was near Greenlake) and he happened to have one of his tallest ladders on his truck.
He and a couple of his crew came over, climbed up that tall ladder (I'm scared of heights), and they secured not only the one skylight that popped off like a bottle cap they also secured the other 2 on top of my house. Apparently the builder that did this house never had the skylights secured to the roof. I've been lucky for 4 1/2 years that they haven't blown off sooner.
Like I always say, work with professionals, pay them well and it will pay off for you in the end. Goodness knows my good relationship with Patrick led him to act swiftly when my house was at risk of being pounded by more rain and then the following day the freezing temperatures and snow.

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in the Seattle area. We drive 20 minutes, past at least two other Chinese restaurants to get to it. The same friendly staff have been serving us delicious food for nearly 15 years! The lunch buffet has only about ten selections so the food turns over rapidly and is always fresh and hot.
Pros: great food, excellent service, lunch buffet
Cons: cigarette odor from bar still lingers a bit in the lobby

We eat here at least one a week and its because of the service !! The order is always right my drinks are always great and the staff is friendly.
Some other Azteca's should be taking lessons from this location to see how its done !! Thank you for being something great in Kirkland where good service is hard to find.

This nail place conviently is also a tanning salon at the same time! I went tanning but also got my toes and nails done all for a very good price. The staff was friendly and they understood my requests and I got the nail and toe design I wanted. I would reccomend this business to all my friends!

An old-fashioned cobbler in bustling downtown Kirkland. I dropped off a pair of well-worn Cole Haan loafers, thinking there was no way these could be saved. I picked them up 3 days later and they look practically new! I found the service here at Bailey’s to be quick, efficient, and of extreme quality. The person at the counter really seemed to be knowledgeable in their trade. The amount of completed and repaired shoes waiting to be picked up is a testimony to their popularity and reputation.
