My family and I love to go to this shop because of their imaginative displays and products. What I like most of all about this shop is there is plenty to keep my husband occupied with the grown up model supplies and whatnot, and there are also plenty of toddler-sized toys (Thomas the Train). I can also wander around the store being amazed at all of the train products. The parking is easy - there is a lot right there (although weekends are extra busy, as it's near the downtown waterfront area of Kirkland).

My family absolutely loves Tech City bowl. It is clean, brightly lit, the staff is helpful, and it seems to be very well-run. All the score-keeping is electronic, which is great. If you bowl with small children, the manager will program in which players need bumpers and which do not, so the bumpers go up and down depending on whose turn it is. My only gripe is that it is a bit expensive. But other than that, it's a great place to take the kids on a rainy afternoon.

This is a tuesday ski bus. Used to be the mini mountain bus, we've ridden for years. If we didn't commit to a bus we'd probably only go to Stevens twice a season, but this makes us get up, lets us catch an extra hour of sleep while riding and then gets us home for dinner. Folks are laid-back and friendly, there's always someone to ski/board and lunch with, or hang out in the bar if you feel like quitting early!

This store is a long stop if you have sports fans or Yu-gi-Oh fans. They have a large collection of sports cards in baseball, basketball, and football. They don’t carry hockey cards due to the low-demand, but they are more than helpful in ordering them for you. The owners really know their cards. They have a huge selection from the really old to the new releases. They are also the biggest store I know of for Yu-Gi-Oh card game fans. Although not as popular as before, they carry many of the different deck releases. They trade and buy cards. The owner will even help you compile a deck for tournament play. They have scheduled sessions where kids can come and duel against each other and receive constructive lessons and learn strategies of the game for a small charge (they receive a free pack of cards as reimbursement). Definitely a shop to see if you are a collector.

More
LWYSA is a great organization to join in Kirkland. Almost all the kids in Washington are involved in soccer- and the LWYSA is great way to join a team and play soccer against and with your friends.
Leagues form during the summer and the teams are organized and start in September. The organization runs mostly by volunteers- and they could always use additional coaches, referees, managers, and team help.
Your child will learn the fundamentals of soccer as well as exercise and have a great time playing in the rain or sunshine.
Payment is for the entire season although there are usually some additional expenses such as team parties and trophies. There are scholarships available for those in financial need.

More
Kirkland's Houghton beach is the top spot for teens wanting to get some sand and sun. The beach is staffed by lifeguards through August. Although not hot, the water is warm enough for those who brave it. A long pier provides a place for jumping into the water. There is a dock to swim to and hang out on.
There is a large area of sand for volleyball and grass for spreading out a towel and chatting with friends.
It is not a friendly place for those with toddlers and young children because of the high number of teens- it's just to hard to keep them out of their way and control the content of what they hear/see. Parking is somewhat difficult on hot days- park along Lake Washington Blvd.

More
The North Kirkland Community Center is the hub of several activities for everyone from toddlers to seniors. Many classes are offered including exercise classes, music, and art classes.
You should check out the directory of the Kirkland Parks and recreation center. Most classes have a limit and you should sign up early. The online process is very easy once you have requested a login id.
The staff is on top of it, and has called when classes are not full enough or there is a cancellation of classes.
The North Kirkland Center is across the street from the "choo choo train park" which is a huge hit for the toddler and younger child crowd.

I went to this shop looking to buy my keltec .32 which i did, it was a bit pricier than on the internet, but not by too much. I asked for a little deal, and while they didn't come down on the price of the fire arm, they did throw in a box of 32 ammo, tho it was the cheapest ammo ever, it still was work 8.99 so i guess essentially i saved 10 bucks, cuz i was gonna have to buy some ammo anyways! they only had about 4 glass cases with guns and a lot of big stuff up on the walls, so its not a huge shop, its on the upstairs of a small strip mall area and their prices are reasonable to fair.. Give em a shot if your in the market..
