My favorite part of dining at Purple is the tasting menu with the matching flights of wine. I visited recently with two friends, and together we tried 20+ dishes and nearly as many glasses of wine. No need to ever order a main course!
Pros: Great tasting menu

An excellent choice for a quality dinner or just a glass of wine. Nice ambiance inside....sophisticated but not stuff. Highly recommend. Multiple locations in the Seattle/Kirkland/Woodinville areas.

I ate at Purple last weekend and had the worst customer service from the manager. They were out of two of the wines I ordered and didn't even offer me a third wine at a similar price. In fact they tried to sell me a terrible bottle at double the price. The manager was rude and the food was awful. All the food was cold and tasteless.
Pros: nothing
Cons: food and wine service

My husband and I love to experience a date night out at the Purple Wine Bar. The selection of wine is top notch and the appetizers are priced just right and enough for a quick dinner before a movie.
The decor is very romantic and sleek and the service has always been good.
Try a cheese and wine flight or the lobster mac and cheese!! To die for!!

This is a very funky place. The interior is very unique. We wine tasters and appetizers at the bar. Both very good. There bottled beer selection was also good.

I've been three times now and enjoyed it. I've always been happy with the wine. The lobster mac and cheese was OK. The bacon wrapped scallop appetizer was nice. I really enjoyed the Sesame Crusted Ahi although the rice cake that came with it was only OK. Service was great and the waiter didn't mock my choice of wine with a meal it didn't "go" with. The restaurant is VERY crowded. It had the vibe of a place people went to see and be seen. Last time my husband and I went a little before the rush and we had a lovely meal.
Pros: wine and service
Cons: crowded

My mother and I are convinced Purple has the best crab cakes in the Seattle area, and we've tried almost all of them! We also love the salads--all are delicious and most pair well with the crab cakes. We aren't wine drinkers, but dine at Purple frequently. Another friend and I had a daily dinner seafood special, which was a white fish encrusted with macadamia nuts, with a beurre blanc sauce. We both thought we'd died and gone to heaven! I tried the beef tenderloin once, and was not happy with size or toughness, but everything else has been good. Service is usually good, but sometimes takes a while to get the check.
Pros: Fresh creative salads, CRAB CAKES

i have been to purple in seattle and kirkland. i prefer the one in seattle, which is trendier. overall, i think their industrial interior will quickly become passe and tired looking. regardless, i was not disappointed this go'round, service was a bit lacking at first. it took a while for someone to take responsibility for our table. once they did, service was seamless. we ordered the prix fixe with the wines for $40 and it was well worth the money. the wines didn't knock my socks off - and i know they could have because i have seen the list - but the food was fantastic. the goat cheese swimming in honey was a bit odd, but i finished every bit. the best part was the prawn and scallop skewers - gorgeous! four huge prawns and four huge scallops - i felt positively spoiled. there was a funky "chick pea cake" and some swiss chard, which was brown but tasty. my peanut dessert was mediocre, but the vanilla creme brulee was great. overall, this spot is not a waste of time or money no matter which location you choose.
Pros: food first, wine list second
Cons: industrial ambience - gonna go out of style
