I've been going to Teresa for 16 years and have had nothing but great experiences. Her knowledge and skills allows for clients to receive a style that both flatters their features and exceeds their expectations. The other stylists in her salon are extremely well trained and you would be hard pressed to find another location where the owner is as concerned about the skills and progression of their stylists. Regardless of whom you see, the experience is guaranteed to be great. I highly recommend her salon for anything from a simple cut to the full package.
Pros: Can always trust the judgement of the stylists

The Parkplace Book Company is an undiscovered gem for those of us living on the east side. Located in the Parkplace Shopping Center in Kirkland, the store is well stocked with an excellent selection of fiction, non-fiction and children's books. It is in the process of expanding, and promises to be even better! I would urge all eastsiders to support their independent book dealers.
Pros: Good service, Good selection, Independent!
Cons: Not easy to find, Parking (sometimes)

During the beanie baby craze, my children went to purchase beanies and I found the flower arrangements very creative and exotic. Months later, my first flower order with them - a basket full of potted plants w/varieties and beautifully arranged as well as within budget. Since then, I've ordered homecoming crosages (they outdo other florist I've used in the past with their attention to detail-packaging, sprinkles, ribbons; Asian inspired flower arrangements (my sister-in-law in Portland raves about it and took pictures while my mother-in-law called to compliment); teacher thank you gifts (they listened and took me into the back room to show me what was fresh and gave me great options) to flower arrangements for my company. They never disappoint and always surprise you with their creative arrangements, excellent consulting skills and quality in the final product!
Pros: creative arrangements, customer service, quality unsurpassed

Great place for specialty items and decor! Lot of interesting and unusual things many with the graceful patina of age.
We bought a lovely picture there and my husband has his eye on a chair. The proprietor and staff are friendly and helpful. Nice gift items. The Trapp candles are yummy!

This is a fabulous high end store with amazingly unique pieces. A great store to find that one special piece for a friend, birthday, wedding or anniversary. I had some jewelry special ordered for my best friends wedding and the owner was more than accommodating and helpful with every detail.I love to peruse the shelves to see what new and interesting things they can find.A great place with high price tags, but certainly worth it for some special things for your home.

Top of the Line Service. Creative, unusual arrangements. No "cookie cutter" stuff to be found here. Each gift is treated as special, giving the extras to every client. They offer a wide range of affordable florals and other gift items. All the gifts I've sent from this source have been proclaimed as "beyond beautiful", "original" and "completely out of the ordinary" by the recipients. I've never had a negative response to flowers or gift baskets from Brittany Flowers of Kirkland.

The Santa carvings are just amazing to look at. They have Santa depicted in all different scenes and styles. You can find mantle pieces, ornaments, wall hangings and more. This is the perfect place to find a unique gift for a teacher, special neighbor or family member.
The cost is more than you would find for home decor items at a large store, but the quality of the items and the experience of the store is worth it.
