I totally agree with indigenous' comments! I live less that a block from here & went only 2 times when I first moved into the neighborhood. It's overpriced for the greasy, crappy (both commenting on the food & how your body reacts to it after eating) food. The place outside really needs at very least a new paint job, but in my opinion needs an "Extreme Makeover: Restaurant Edition" type renovation. The outside should be give the prospective diner reason to pause before entering. If you really enjoy good Chinese food avoid this place at all cost!
Pros: Its close to where I live
Cons: the food & atmosphere

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in the Seattle area. We drive 20 minutes, past at least two other Chinese restaurants to get to it. The same friendly staff have been serving us delicious food for nearly 15 years! The lunch buffet has only about ten selections so the food turns over rapidly and is always fresh and hot.
Pros: great food, excellent service, lunch buffet
Cons: cigarette odor from bar still lingers a bit in the lobby

This is one of those Chinese restaurants that are split in two sections with a bar on one side and a restaurant on the other. The bar is a blue/white collar drinking bar, not a trendy Eastside lounge. That's not a perjorative, there is clearly a role for these establishments. My guess is that the restaurant is open to satisfy the provisions of the liquor license.
The food is not heinous, but chances are if you take your family or group there for "the Chinese restaurant experience" you'll find the fare a major disappointment, and by the time the fortune cookies arrive whoever chose Asian Wok will be the your group's outcast.
I live within walking distance and love Chinese food. Yet after giving them a fair chance with repeated visits, I will now drive right past them without a second thought as I head to the many better restaurants in the Kirkland area.
The truly sad part is that Kirkland has a great representation of virtually every ethnic food - but they don't have a good Chinese restaurant, so Asian Wok misses a huge opporunity, ostensibly satisfied to live off their bar revenues.
Pros: Right on Market Street, easy acess and plenty of parking.
Cons: As far as the food goes you could have done just as well at Safeway's China Express

I have been going to this great (if very traditional) Chinese restaurant for a few months now. It is my new favorite (though i still go to Noble House for dim sum) The portions are generous and the service solid. It's not stuffy, or fancy but you can take your friends or family and never be embarrassed. The flavors are bright and I have yet to be disappointed by any thing I've ordered. The won ton soup is comforting and really tasty: delicate intensely chicken-y broth, tiny shreds of BBQ pork, and amazing wontons. They serve the best egg rolls and egg foo yung I have every had. With the terrific egg rolls, fried prawns and potstickers, I wonder what their dim sum would be like if they only had it....?
They have the added draw of a full bar. Sometimes the crowd around the bar might be looking a little scary, but walk right through to the best dinner you've had for a while.
Pros: Always good, generous servings, outstanding egg foo yung.
Cons: Bar crowd

I moved here 15 years ago from New York City - "the chinese food capital" of the world. I was so disappointed in the chinese food in the Seattle area- until I found Asian Wok in Kirkland. Beware the imposters that call themselves Asian Wok - it is only the one in Kirkland on Market Street that I give the 5 star review for. For 15 years I have been going there. The service is fantastic. The wait staff always has a smile and are very friendly. The food is very reasonably priced and the tast is fantastic. I have two kids and since they were preschoolers they have loved the chicken and vegetables!!! It comes in a dark brown sauce that I have tried to make but can never figure out all their ingredients. It is absolutely fabulous. (and my kids love it!!)
There are big round tables in the back with a lazy susan on the table. It is a great spot for lots of friends or families. The rest of the place is red leather booths and a few tables. A couple of big fish tanks that entertain the kids too. The ambiance is not upscale at all, but very friendly. Don't be put off by the bar that can be noisy and smoky. When you first walk in the bar is on your left - you just enter to the right for the restaurant and the noise and smoke from the bar go away and you will eat the best chinese food in the whole state!
You are so lucky if you live in the neighborhood. I used to but now I live 45 minutes away - but it's still where I go when I want good chinese food!!!
It's the best.
Pros: Best Chinese Food in Washington State
Cons: NO CONS
