Food quality and preparation is above average but not outstanding or exceptional. Nice variety in the menu with a number of "specials" for the evening. However, once the tab came, we were surprised that the special, osso bucco. was a high $31.95. Although generous in portions, the plates lacked "presentation". The special salad was simple, yet superb. The desserts were standard at best. High marks for atmosphere and the beautiful lake view! Service was adequate, however, the matri'd and waiter lacked finesse. I would return but now know what to expect.
Pros: View
Cons: ala carte pricing

We had an early dinner on Sunday of the holiday weekend, they were not busy. First round of drinks took over 15 min to arrive, martini's came with olives not twist as ordered. When my wife asked for a twist the waitress brought it with her finders and handed it to my wife. Had to repeatedly ask for bread and water. The food was very good, although the Gnocchi was a bit soft and a short on flavor, the veal and cannelloni were both excellent.
First time the bill came it was wrong, waitress was snappy when asked to make correction. Pricing on food was very reasonable, drinks were vere over priced. We will not be back, not recommend it.
Pros: View, great chef
Cons: Service, over priced drinks

I think unexceptional is the right word. Not bad. Certainly not great. The food is acceptable, but not noteworthy. The service was poor. I had to ask for things twice. The ambience, however, is quite nice. Good views. Good mood. I thought the food was somewhat overpriced relative to the quality and ingredient cost. i won;t say not to go, but don't expect to be impressed.

After being disappointed that the restaurant was no longer Foghorn, despite the numerous signs on the dock and on the side of the building, we were absolutely appalled by the service we received. After ordering drinks twice, they finally came 10 minutes later. When our server finally arrived to inform us of the specials, she couldn't remember all of the them and ran hurriedly away to find out what they were. She didn't return to our table for another 15 minutes, but in the meantime we did overhear her telling other patrons the specials of the night and forgetting the same menu items that she did for us. Our water glasses seemed to be perpetually empty and after finishing our meals our empty plates sat for 10 minutes. The only saving grace of this restaurant was the food, but unfortunately it wasn't good enough for us to return. It's a real shame to waste such a valuable opportunity for a fantastic restuarant on the water, especially with boaters' access with a private dock.
Pros: private dock
Cons: service, price

The coziness of the soft lighting and the wonderful view is matched only by the superb food. We had two appetizers - the jumbo shrimp and the manila clams. Wonderful! We chose the specials and the sea bass and peppered New York steak with exceptional sauces couldn't have been more delicious. The wine, espresso, dessert and fine service made this a delightful and well priced dining experience. What a great transition from the old Foghorn. We prefer it and we will be back!
Pros: food, service, ambiance

ONE OF KIRKLANDS LONG TIME RESTARUANTS HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER BY NEW MANAGEMENT WITH A NEW NAME AND MENU. WE HAVE FOUND OUR DINING EXPERIENCES AT THIS RESTURANT TO BE VERY ENJOYABLE. THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT WITH A WIDE RANGE OF CHOICES FOR ALL. THE HOST AND WAIT STAFF ARE KNOWLEDGABLE AND CAN HELP WITH MENU CHOICES OR A GOOD GLASS OF WINE TO ACCOMPANY YOUR MEAL. THE CHEF AND OWNER, TIM CLANCY SPENDS TIME IN THE DINING ROOM TALKING WITH THE CLIENTS MAKING THE EXPERIENCE ALL VERY PERSONABLE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE SCALLOPS! DELICIOUS!!
Pros: on water, good views, small intimate
Cons: small parking lot

The service was truly outstanding and the food was fantastic. The menu had excellent choices as well. While the price of the meal was appropriate, the price of a glass of wine ($6.50 - $8.50) was a bit steep. However, they also offer half bottles of wine. It is a classy dining experience without any stuffiness. In terms of decor and ambience, it is very similar to previously; lots of low candlelight, booths and tables tiered for optimizing the view, all set in a kind of old house. This can be romantic and cozy because it doesn't have the classy-chain-restaurant feel or some of the pomp of the other high-end Kirkland restaurants. Its kind of a weird mix of feeling at home but being at a nice restaurant at the same time. All in all, you will not be disappointed with this place! I will definitely be back.
Pros: service, great food, candle light
Cons: price of wine/glass
