Being fairly new to the area I have checked out pretty much all the hang outs in Kirkland and Hector's is by far the best. Many of the local bars have a dingy outdated appearance to them and look as though the only renovations they have gone through in the past 15 years are some new televisions. Hectors however is a different story, the actual bar seems to be an antique that has been beautifully kept, the chairs are extremely comfortable and the entire atmosphere is modern mixed with a comfortable feel, not the trendy anemic minimalist bars that seem to be swelling in popularity. The service is knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The only thing Hector's really lacks is a good draft beer selection as they only seem to have 4 beers on tap. We go here about once a week and always love the casual atomosphere and good, hot comfort food. Try the Crab Mac and Cheese and you'll be in love. Hector's burger is a sure bet too! Cocktails are done right, good beer on tap, and my favorite, the 1/2 glass wine option. Not a stuffy crowd and the price is right on the money. Looking to just chill, head to the back and sit by the fireplace. This is our favorite place to meet friends and have a good time together. Pros: hot, tasty food, casual crowd, fireplace in back Cons: average service, but friendly!
