Buttera Motors

I recently took my 06 Jetta TDI to Buttera Motors for some problems I was having with loss of power and hesitation. I had taken it to the Dealership and two other Certified VW repair shops where I was told the problem was everything from a Timing Belt (thousands of dollars) to a blown head gasket (more thousands). A friend told me to take it to Buttera because he had such a fantastic experience with them and uses them exclusively now. I did and am I ever glad that I did! After looking it over and running some tests, the owner (Matt) called to say that it was in desperate need of a general tune up but that the problems that I was told there were.... were not. In fact during their extensive tune up process, Matt and his crew found the actual problem. A horribly clogged fuel filter was the issue. They replaced it and the problem was solved. Now my Jetta runs better than the day I bought it and they did it at a fraction of the cost that I would have paid for things that weren't even wrong with it! Honesty, Integrity, Knowledge and Talent! Four things that have earned my business and will keep it for years to come. Thanks Buttera and thanks to Matt and all of his talented crew! more

I've brought my air-cooled bug to Buttera several times for tune-ups and repairs and never had a bad experience. Very nice people that do great work - can't complain! more

Because of our great experience at Buttera with repairs on our VW Bug and Rabbit, when we had to replace these cars, we purchased a VW Passat. We are now back at Buttera since the warranty period is over. We completely trust Buttera with not over-charging us and telling us exactly what needs to be replaced. They are honest people! more

I've always had my VW Golf serviced at Buttera. For me I'm glad that they know what they are doing because I don't have to bring my Golf to a VW dealer because the closest one in probably the one in Bellevue. To the one who had the experience of the one who had the coolant leak issues, it is possible that you really did have two separate coolant leaks. I used to own a VW Rabbit and did all of my own repairs, talking to the mechanics at Buttera, I've come to appreciate their expertise. I've always been given options and never charged for diagnosis. They've even steered me clear of expensive repairs that I was convinced I needed and did a simple adjustment for free. I've also had my Audi A4 for basic service and they have done a good job. more

Buttera Motors is always fair, quick, and reasonably priced. We got tired of getting bilked by the dealer and took a chance with Buttera - they proved better and less expensive. We have been going to them for years and they always deliver. You can trust tese guys! more

I have gone to this place a few times to give them chance to earn my business. Each time I have gone they have charged me hundreds of dollars, they are still slightly cheaper then Professionals. Here is an example of there service. I went to get a tuneup and specifically told them I have a coolant leak. So they took 5 days and charged me 850. 3 weeks later the coolant started leaking again at about a gallon a day. So I took it back it because is was undriveable and they kept it for a week before they even looked at it, and they said it wasn't there fault and put a price tag of 1000 for the same coolant leak they couldn't find before. I didn't pay them, I took my car and went to a VW dealership where is was repaired expertly and hasn't had a leak since. more

I have taken my 1976 Type II (bus) to Buttera anytime I have needed service of any kind, from pre-purchase inspection to oil changes to having a hole drilled and tapped for a temp sensor, and they can always fit me in within a decent amount of time. I have heard that Buttera is the oldest VW garage in the Seattle area. Dick and Gary definitely know their stuff, and I would not hesitate to recommend Buttera to anybody. more

This place is the one to go for vw repair. I have a vw van from 1978, and no one has been as reliable and responsible as this place. If you are in need of a quicky repair, or complete engine overhaul, this is the place. If you have only a little cash, they will tell you what you need to get fixed just to get by until you can afford the real stuff. vw owners know what I am talking about. more
