We found Forbes when we lived in Kent. At the time they were in a very small shop, but have since moved down the hill into a larger space. We have purchased about a half a dozen items from the company and their staff has always been nice and very helpful. I believe the owners are always in the store or at least every time that we have been there. They have a good selection of beautiful wood furniture, no icky, chipy press board here! I am big sufferer of buyers remorse and always seem to double, triple check my prices before and after each purchase. I have not once found a price cheaper on line or in a competitors store, in fact , most times I find that Forbes comes in well under their competitors prices. The only downside to the store is that it is not open on Sundays.

I've bought several pieces at this store. I agree that you should get a final quote and compare but also compare the quality of the item rather than just the price. It's best to keep in mind though that you are buying furniture made of wood and not MDF at Forbes so take that into consideration too. Service is always excellent and staff and owner are always more than helpful. Delivery is always on time and you couldn't ask for more polite & personable delivery people. Extremely careful with the items. I look around but I always seem to end up back at Forbes. If they don't have what you want, they can find it or you can have it custom made. We've done both there and it's always exactly what I want. Great store.

We've bought lots of pieces, large and small, finished and unfinished, from Forbes over the past 6 years. Some stuff was excellent value, but some that required custom finishing were steep. Overall happy, but would get itemized understanding of total cost before comparing with pre-finished at other stores.

Forbes Furniture is a regular size furniture store packed into a too-small building. They offer many choices of wooden furniture, and most pieces can be altered to fit what you want. They offer beautiful dining room sets, bedroom sets, rocking chairs, desks, bookshelves, etc. It is just hard to get a feel for everything that is offered because the store is so crowded. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and we love the furniture we have bought there.
