The Caveman Kitchen used to be very good when the original owner was still alive. They have lost the technique he had for ribs. I bought a pound of ribs today and they were the toughest I have had anywhere. I could not eat them, and threw them away. Awful. This is so sad. The Caveman used to be the best little rib joint in Kent. Those days are over. I have never had such lousy ribs, and the price was not cheap. Fool me once..shame on you. Fool me twice....well...you won't fool me twice. Pros: Good beans Cons: Terrible ribs

This has been around for many year. When the old man owned it, he gave you tastes of everything and you got alot of great food for the money. I would take turkey,salmon or trout there to get it smoked. Then he died and service and food went down hill. I can say more about it but won't cause I figured it was a transition period. Then tried again, not much better. We recently got dinner to bring home. I am small and my husband big (taller than me). It was over $50.00 for the two of us. If we had had a lot of leftovers, I'd be okay with the price. However, it wasn't as good as many years ago and the cost is not for a family living week to week on a pay check. For our $50.00, I could have bought groceries for several days. Don't plan to go back, neither one of us or my adult kids who tasted it and didn't think it was up to par.

An 8" sandwich with 2 sides for under $12, find that at Quiznos! I know they've been around for some time (70's?!!) for good reason and I hope they're around for alot longer! Come one come all! We kept our fingers crossed because if the meat wasn't good, there was going to be alot of people very angry with us. Didn't order any sides so I can't say what those taste like but the meat was great. Overall, excellent smokiness - extremely reasonable - will be ordering meat for Thanksgiving again next year. They catered a work party recently and most were not too impressed(especially those who eat and cook BBQ). The ribs were tender with lots of meat but their sauce was just....wrong. Didn't taste like BBQ sauce. Tasted more like ketchup with spices. Their Baked Beans were runny and lacked any real flavor, especially compared to other BBQ places like The Generals in Kent. The bright spots were their potato salad, which was pretty darn good, and their smoked chicken, which, while a little dry, was unbelievably flavorful and the leftovers made excellent sandwiches the next day. Overall, not worth the price, except for the chicken. Pros: smoked chicken and potato salad Cons: Bad, bad, BAD sauce

I've been to the caveman twice for lunch in the past year becuase coworkers rave about how good it is. I got the beef sandwich and dragon wheels both times. Almost no meat on my sandwich, the little meat there was bland, the barbeque sauce is tasteless, and even though the dragon wheels are good - they are overpriced for the little food you get. I just don't understand how anyone can consider this a good barbeque place. Trust me, go somewhere else for lunch. Cons: Overpriced, Tasteless Barbeque
