Ok here it is I have been coming to this restaurant since I first used chopstix. Right when you walk in the door you may have well just teleported to a back ally in japan. the food is amazing and for those of you who don't like the "yellow stuff" its just hollandaise, and yeah it is delicious. if you like hollandaise, otherwise leave it. the green stuff is spinach and if you don't like it leave it. they will throw shrimp at you so be ready and if you don't like the atmosphere its because you have never traveled outside your own comfortable little box, get out go to gojo's not just the food the atmosphere.
Pros: TASTE
Cons: it is built to resemble hidden diner in a back ally in Japan

Jess and Jim's is a hidden treasure in Kansas City. I had lived here for almost two years before I found this great restaurant. If you go, I would recommend their cheeseburger if you're looking for something simple. Order a steak if you want the best steak you've ever had! The lunch prices were very reasonable. The best service around!

My son and his Beta Club group ate there when they were on their field trip yesterday. They had a blast ! They toured Science City, had lunch at Union Station, saw "Fly Me To The Moon" at Imax, then came down to Crown Center and Fritz's for their midafternoon snack. My son always enjoys things that are on the cutting edge ! Plus, he loves trains ! He thought it was pretty cool that you call in your order on the phone from the booth and that your food is brought by a train on the tracks and then dropped down right to you! I have never been to Fritz's, but am planning on going when I go to Kansas City ! Thanks for this very cool restaurant !

My son had a birthday a few weeks ago and he really likes trains so we took him to Fritz's Railroad Restaurant that is located in Crown Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Get to the restaurant early as they get busy quick. Upon being greeted you are given an engineer hat, you order your meal from a telephone at the table and the food is delivered by a train. The track runs around the ceiling of the restaurant. This restaurant is fun for all ages.

Kansas City is known for steak - we even have a cut of meat named after us!
For truly amazing steak, try Plaza III. This is an elegant, refined restaurant, and all the biggest names eat here. The service is perfect, the drinks are perfect, the side dishes are perfect - really, the whole place is perfect! It has a wonderful country club feel, truly professional waitstaff, and so much more!
This is THE place to go for steak when you don't care about the price! The prices are a la carte, so your potatoes, side dishes, etc. are priced separately. The bar stocks only the most premium liquors, and the barstaff can make any drink you ask.
If you can afford to go, you won't regret spending the $$!

The fries are great and always fresh, and I also like the hamburgers (though I don't like thick meat, so be warned). Definitely a place to eat in, because everything gets soggy if you go to the drive-through.
Pros: made to order (fresh), drinks/shakes, fries
Cons: , thin meat

I think this is the best place in town for burgers although the other night I went out of a limb and ordered the Reuben. It was unbelievable. The meat was tender and the bread was grilled to perfection. We happened to be there on a Wednesday which was trivia night. That was fun and people really get into it. Great night -- good food -- cold beer -- doesn't get much better than that.
Pros: Friendly /relaxed, great food, wide variety of beers on tap
Cons: None

More
The Flea Market boasts Kansas City's tastiest burger, carefully selected from the finest McGonigle's beef, and pressed, all ten ounces of it, between two massive buns.
But the sublime burger is not the only attraction. About 25 taps line the wall behind the bar, and the decor is that of a real, working flea market, that operates every week. The bar and restaurant are just kind of shimmied between parts of the flea market.
Bring cash, because they don't take cards.
