I'm a steak fan... and you would think that in a city where beef has been so important to its development, every steak you find in the city would be exceptional, but this small local chain just served up OK beef... nothing that I couldn't find in any major city.
The caesar salad was fair, and the anchovies that I requested were pretty grim... leathery and without any anchovy flavor. The steak was a perfect medium rare, but wasn't nearly as good as steaks had in Chicago or Boston.
It's ok - not worth the price or worth returning to in my book.

Without a doubt the best jewelry store in town. Their prices were far below all other jewelry stores I shopped and their selection was unmatched. My wife and I bought our engagement rings there and haven't passed a single person who has not given each one of us a compliment on them!

I have the priviledge of staying at the Hyatt at Crown Center each June for a month with my delegation for SkillsUSA. Each time, we have been treated very well. Christelle in Catering and Sales is a pleasure to work with.
The rooms are clean, bright and comfortable. Each night my room had a turn-down service with mints left on my pillow. 5 Stars to the staff at the Hyatt.
In addition, the Hyatt is connected to the Hallmark Crown Center shopping mall. Plenty of eating, shopping and entertainment to be had there.

This was found buried underneath a Kansas Farmers land several years ago. It is interesting to see how much of the items were preserved and still intact. You can see everything from food to the mule that was on board. They offer group tours and specials so check those out. You can watch them through glass as they uncover more items or smell some of the perfume that was found on the boat. The gift shop offers many memento's from the museum even some of the perfume ( of course its a remake) A great trip that will last the whole day and you will learn something too.

With a capacity in the low thousands, the Uptown is probably the largest non-gigantic music venue in KC. Beautifully and colorfully restored in recent years, it's a gorgeous building, inside and out. It plays host to major touring acts, because of its great capacity and ideal location in the center of the metro area.
My only gripe about the Uptown is that the drink prices can be blatantly ridiculous. I was paying ten dollars a beer, at a show, last month, and even more amazingly, even though they don't take credit cards(except in the "Nowhere" bar, and only accept cash, there is no ATM anywhere in the building.

I love Planet Sub. They have creative and tasty sandwich creations and a festive, community-friendly atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in a unique place and not a chain. The location at the Shops at Boardwalk often has colorings on the walls by local elementary school students. They have a community bulletin board at the entrance and collect money for a local charity. I know....what about the food?! It's great. My "usual" is the Creamy Club, but they have all varieties of veggie, meat and seafood sandwiches, as well as salads and cookies (everyone needs a cookie!). Also, don't forget to ask for a punch card--buy 10 get 1 free!
