Avalon has great hours and availability of appointments at the last minute. The salon carries Aveda products and is well-maintained and modern. The staff is always attentive and friendly. Prices are a bit on the high side, but they sometimes offer specials. Online appointment booking is available, but I have not used it. Website is www.avalonsalon-spa.com. My mom took me here for my birthday earlier this year and It was a completely refreshing and relaxing experience. The staff was professional and kind and the atmosphere was wonderful. I can't really say anything about the price because it was a gift but I do know that i highly reccommend this place. I enjoyed my experience here.

The salon is new and modern like something you'd expect from a larger city. I researched a number of Kansas City spas and found very few that were modern looking and a place I'd want to take a friend for a first time spa experience. The staff was courteous and friendly. I went it for a 60-minute massage with a friend. We were welcomed with warm foot baths to soak our feet in while we filled out forms (massage history, medical conditions, etc.). I was most impressed by the accommodating staff. I wanted to reschedule the appointment to a day and time that they didn't expect to have two massage therapists in at the same time to do our massages. The receptionist said he'd see what he could do, called me back shortly and had arranged to have just what I wanted. And all this only a day before my original appointment. The only drawback was there were no shower facilities for after the massage so we left rather oily. There's plenty of parking at Zona Rosa (free garages and meter street parking). Tips can't be charged on a debit/credit card but must be paid with cash or personal check.

The Avalon Salon & Day Spa located in the Zona Rosa is a great place to escape after a long day of shopping or just from the daily grind. The staff is friendly without being pushy. I went there after a rather disappointing hair cut elsewhere and was pleased when my stylist took her time assessing the situation and making sure I was comfortable with every step. She even started with a scalp massage. My previously horrible hair cut was transformed into something modern and chic. The atmosphere is relaxing and the shampoo chairs are even comfortable instead of awkward. Avalon is an Aveda concept salon.
