There aren't many choices for book shops in Juneau, but this is probably the best. They always charge full cover price for books, which gets rather expensive. They don't have a large selection of books. They do sell educational toys and have a pretty good selection of those. Their employees are usually friendly and happy to help.

I love this store! Its locally owned by two awesome women who understand the kinds of shoes that Juneau women want and need! They offer adorably cute (and sexy!) shoes from comfy and stylish brands at a variety of prices, but most are reasonable (from $30-$140). They also sell more practical, but fashionable shoes for Juneau weather. They recently merged with Hudson's--a classic Juneau shoe store--on Seward street. Highly recommended!

Caribou Crossing is a great little store in Juneau. They have a lot of items from local Alaskan artists. Nothing is imported. The store is very original and it is also locally owned. It's great if you want true Alaskan items.

I shop at this Jo-Ann Fabrics store regularly. They have a large supply of items to make kid's crafts. There is also a huge scrapbooking section, with many stickers, stamps and papers to choose from. The employees are always extremely helpful and really know what they're talking about as far as crafty things go. I've gotten some great suggestions and ideas from the employees.

This is a very small Christian bookshop located past the McDonald's. They have a pretty decent tract rack to choose from right by the register. There is a somewhat large selection of music, new and old. There are a few books and videos also. The back room has inspirational cards for many ocassions and even Christian themed gifts for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. The store does not accept credit cards, so make sure to bring cash or your checkbook.

This is a consignment shop that sells baby and baby-related items. They have a good variety of gently used baby clothes and maternity clothes at very reasonable items. They also sell baby gear, like strollers or high chairs, but these sell quickly so you have to keep an eye out for them. The employees are friendly and happy to help and make suggestions.

There are only two malls in Juneau and this is the best one. There are more stores here, like Jo-Ann Fabrics and Hearthside Books & Toys. There is the beautiful Southeast Alaska Art store and Payless Shoes. Santa is here during December to have your photo taken and there is also a gift wrapping service. Also, it is 1/12 of a mile from one end of the mall to the other. The mall opens one hour before the stores if you want to go and walk when the weather is bad.
