The twisted fish serves up all sorts of great seafood caught right outside in the waters of southeast alaska. Great food at reasonable prices, the twisted fish is a great place to go for a fun night out. The only downfall is that the place can get pretty loud.

Whenever I come home the first place I want to go is Peter's oriental. It's a tiny little whole in the wall in the mall in Juneau, but it has some really good oriental food. The fried rice is amazing and there sauce is to die for.

This little coffee shop, tucked in the corner of the Nugget Mall parking lot, is a hidden treasure. After having frequented the other local joints, I finally stopped in at Java Jazz and was immediately pleased. They offer some tasty sounding drinks, like "Almond Joy" and "Snickers" as well as smoothies like "Caramel Apple." Even more awesome, for me, they have a non-fat, sugar-free menu. The non-fat, sugar-free mocha is scrumptious and virtually guilt free! The prices are average, around $3 for a drink. They also have a location near the Costco.

The Waffle Co. is a cute little cafe sort of restaurant with amazing waffles and great drinks. It has a fun, relaxing atmosphere--great for bringing friends to chill and play cards. Its close to University of Alaska, so its a popular college hang out and study place. Great food, great price, and its locally owned too! And its got a great view of Auke Bay harbor.

This is a good restaurant located close to downtown. The food is a little pricey, but worth it. They serve really good steaks for dinner. The lunch menu is light, but good. They have a good brunch on Sundays for a low price. There is also a great view of the water from the restaurant.

Chan's Thai Kitchen is the only Thai restaurant in Juneau, and it is great! It is owned by a Thai couple, so the food is fairly authentic and incredibly delicious. The downside is that the restaurant is really popular, but they don't take reservations, so the wait is usually pretty long. Its located across the street from Auke Bay Harbor, with a beautiful view. Great food, fun atmosphere, and good prices--so its worth the wait.
