EXCELLENT WINE LIST, MAHOGANY BAR AND TAVERN MENU WITH LIGHTER FARE.. VERY POPULAR SUNDAY BRUNCH. ENJOYED THE MANY COURSES AT DINNER, SPENT A FEW $$$$ BUT WELL WORTH IT...WILL DO IT AGAIN.
Pros: ON SITE FREE PARKING, PANORAMIC VIEW OF NEWPORT AND THE BAY. PROMPT SERVICE

Trattoria Simpatico is unquestionably one of the finest restaurants in Rhode Island, maybe in all of New England and it's right here in Jamestown. For the most part, the food is to die for. There's outdoor dining under the stars with white lights twinkling overhead. You cannot believe the number of people who drive down from Boston to experience this place.

I don't like to even think how much money I've spent on jewelry for my wife in this place. My wife loves anything with an ocean theme. Sand dollar earrings. Bracelets with tiny gold starfish. Jamestown Designs has a wide assortment of often strikingly beautiful and always unique jewelry. Lots of other gifts, too. They do custom framing as well. The service is always presonalized to a fault. If you're in Jamestown or Newport, it's worth a visit.

Ahhhh...this is my favorite place to get away from the daily grind! Grab some lunch or delicious coffee and baked goods, and get a seat on the patio overlooking one of the prettiest views in the state. In the summertime, you'd bettter be early, this is one busy place! For good reason - with huge sandwiches, the freshest coffee around and the most decadent brownies ever - it's easy to understand the crowds. And the prices are still very reasonable. Especially when you consider the beautiful location and the chance to avoid the Newport tourist surge.

I have dined here a few times and am always blown away by the atmosphere and pleasant staff. It is not stuffy... but the gardens outside and little touches in the dining rooms make it so special. We think this restaurant is wonderful mix of quality food, ambiance and comfortable environment.
Trattoria is THE special occasion place of choice for our family.

My boyfriend and I go here on a regular basis, and it consistently great. Judy is one of the best waitresses I've ever had. The bartender makes excellent margaritas. Their daily specials are always great - their fish cakes and salmon cakes are awesome, and their regular menu is great too - the calamari is awesome, and so are the burgers. It's a great place for a casual, delicious, reasonably priced meal. The atmosphere is dark and pub-like, decorated with nautical themed knick knacks. Not super romantic but dark and cozy enough for our taste!
Pros: Excellent food, great service, good specials, good bartender
Cons: Wish it had outdoor seating!
