The veterinarians and staff at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital really care about animals and it shows. In the midst of one of my own animal emergencies- the staff here was nothing but calm, kind and understanding. They helped me understand all parts of the procedures my cat had to undergo and helped to make sure he made a full recovery. I felt like I left my beloved pet in good hands and it turns out I was right.
As well as being upfront with the costs of all procedures, the folks at Angell are quick to correct payments and take less money when required. They gave my pet and I excellent service and for that I am forever grateful.

I have only eaten at Ten Tables once, but before eating, I heard nothing but great things! When I called for reservations, the guy at the other end of the line was really accommodating to my idiosyncratic changes. Very patient, nice, and professional! (If I had taken his name, I would have purchased a thank you card for him!)
When we arrived, we had to wait a little longer after our reservation time - about 10 minutes - during which we perused the lovely flower shop next door (which does the flower work for Ten Tables). Because it was a Wednesday, there was a prix fixe menu that included an appetizer, a main, and a dessert for $29, which allowed my date and me to purchase a bottle of wine. For the appetizer, I had a chilled soup with a pistachio pistou, and for the main I had some freshly made bucatini with calamari and vegetables. The soup was such a pleasant surprise, and perfect on a summer?s day. The pasta?s freshness was clear and perfect for the array of calamari and veggies. It was so apparent from the taste of the food that the chefs really care about each dish they put out! The only disappointing meal was the dessert. The profiteroles were edible and pleasant, but not as surprising as the previous courses, and the mint ice cream had too much fresh mint!! The waiter was nice and informative, and the price was pure perfection! I can?t wait to try the vegetarian tasting menu!
Pros: Amazingly fresh food, superb ambience, inviting, intimate
Cons: Desserts were not as "amazing"

Boomerangs is an interesting twist on a thrift store concept. Located in JP Centre, Boomerangs is home to the castoff items of a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood as well as stock of items that didn't sell from select Metro Boston businesses.
If you live nearby you'll want to "pop-in" to Boomerangs as you pass by just to check out what is in stock at the moment. You'll find an extraordinarily eclectic collection of CD's, kitchenwares that range from dishes and glasses to crystal and appliances, a huge assortment of used clothes and lots and lots of books. Plus, you can even find furniture, though the furniture typically is quite used... you'll find some rare finds on good pieces on the rare occaision as I have.
All in all the staff is very helpful and frequent visits will result in great finds and astounding bargains. My most recent visit last week resulted in discovering margarita glasses from Pottery Barn that someone obviously had never used and decided to dispose of... at 75 cents a stem!

Looking for outdoor eating in the city is sometimes tough for parents with 2 small children. I drive by the Alchemist every night, and always thought of going there with the husband and kids, but felt it might not be the best place for us...we took a chance and went one Friday night, sat in the patio area, and SURPRISE? out came the crayons and paper for the kids to color with! The staff was extra nice to us...I went in search of a bathroom with my 2 year old and came up short, until a lovely young man showed us the "WC" near the bar. It was a fun night out for us. We'll definitely do it again. Oh yes! And the food ain't bad either...The Alchemist burger with it's over-easy egg on top was delicious! So was my daughter's flat bread pizza.
Pros: Great burgers, great staff!
Cons: Loud patio seating

I'm a little embarassed to admit that I first came to Doyle's because it was featured regularly on the old television show Boston Public. But once I got there, I didn't care what had brought me in, because I was glad that I'd found such a warm, homey place serving great food and drinks. Local brews are available on tap, and the seafood casserole and sweet potato fries are both outstanding. This place just makes you want to curl up in a booth with a few friends and drink the night away.

I am extremely happy with Bill and his approach of service. I had a nagging problem with my refrigerator. It took 3 visits from Bill to get it fixed. But he did it and that too without grumbling about it even once. I always expect the worst in these situations and was worried when thiings didn't get fixed the first time. I got even more worried when I had to call Bill the 3rd time. Bill came as promised till the problem was fixed. I know it took more time and effort than what Bill expected but hemade sure that the problem was fixed. Thank you Bill, I know who to call the next time.

Bukhara looks sort of schmancy, and it's a little more expensive than its siblings on the other side of the river. However, it's a relaxing place to eat and the food is always good. There are plenty of vegetarian options as well as some things you don't often see, like chaats. The daily buffet is around $8, a little more on weekends. Park on the street or behind the bank after 6pm.
