This place is terrible. Went on a recommendation of a friend, and it seemed busy, so maybe service varies. I got no quote, but since it was recommended & owner seemed nice, I went with it. I went for what I though was a wheel bearing issue..but he explained it wasn't the case. When I got my car back, the invoice was about double the quote from the dealer, and the problem wasn't fixed. The problem then got significantly worse in the next month, so I brought it back and he switched the bearing for an additional $250..dealer quote $120. Now there is still a problem, which I think is the hub that got ruined when the bearing got even worse...All in all I have shelled out over $1000 and the car is no better...Stay away!!!!

I have been using Keegan's for about 3.5 - 4 years and found them to be consistently reliable. They don't sugarcoat things. Their hourly rate is pretty expensive I think $75 an hour. But then again I don't know what rates are. Russ Keegan does what he says and if he cant do it when he says he will tell you when he can and how much it will cost. I have been very happy with their service and would recommend to anyone in the Jamaica Plain area.

I was really upset about my experience at Keegan's. I do not have a regular garage in Boston, and I've been shopping around. I needed an oil change, and decided to try out Keegan's. I dropped my car off in the morning. I told them I wanted an oil change and asked them to also check the air levels in my tires. He said they would check over the car and told me that was part of what they would check. My car is well-maintained, relatively new, and in good condition. I picked up my car at the end of the day, and was handed a bill for $85. Keegan's bills at an hourly rate (I think approx $60-$65 per hour?) They looked over my car and billed me for an hour of work, as well as the oil change. I was very upset, as I had JUST taken my car to the dealer for the 65,000 mile check up a month before. They did NOTHING to my car that warranted this, other than look it over and tell me everything was fine. Grrrr. Still, they were very nice and seemed competent. If I actually needed work done on my car, I might go to Keegan's.
