Great place to go anytime, gets crowded on the weekend at night. I like to go in the daytime on Saturday so I can enjoy a good beer and something to eat. Live music at night, irish style.

I had Al's pizza for the first time in a long time about 2 weeks ago after surfing. I had previously had Al's only a couple of times years ago and was never to thrilled about their pizza. This time I ordered a make your own steak calzone and all I can say is wow it was damn good. Don't go for their pizza, go for dinners.
Pros: beach locations
Cons: mediocre pizza

my friends told me about this place philly's finest at jax beach.I am from philly and I really miss a good cheesesteak. The place is a no joke philly style rest. I watched the eagle game against the giants with my girl friend the place was packed. The cheesesteaks were for real. The amarosa bread was a great reminder of home. I would have thought the food was going to be mass made because of all the people there, but i was way wrong. The owner told us that it is always busy during the eagles games and went out of his way to get us 2 seats from the back and made us a spot so we could stay. My girl friend is not from philly and she got a chicken cheesesteak and she said it was the best thing she has ever had. I would definitly go back and will be there for the nfc play off game.. go eagles
Pros: great cheesesteaks and even better service
Cons: needs to have more room , so get there early for football games..

Beach Hut Cafe has one of the best breakfasts in town. The food is down home southern cooking you just cannot pass up. Unless you get there early you can usually expect a wait but the line moves pretty quickly. Their prices are inexpensive compared to the other restaurants around town and the portions are enough to fill up anyone. You walk in and immediately feel right at home. I usually get the western omelette which is great. This is a great place to go with the kids because it is family oriented.

Dont let the long lines scare you at the door. It goes by quick. Its a seat yourself place, so as soon as you a table get up, get there. The menu is breakfast and lunch.
PROS: Awesome food, friendly place
CONS: don't sit in the fish room, mean server.

This place needs to be on the Oprah Show! They have the best burgers I've ever eaten. They are so big you can share them but you won't want to. Share the fries - not the burger!

Unpretentious yet perfectly executed, this simple approach to traditional cuisine resonates the "back to basics" style this talented chef has made his trademark over the past two decades. Unwaivering from modern, over-complicated attempts, Dwight represents everything that is true in a memorable dining experience.- Marissa Day
Pros: cuisine,ambience
Cons: no liquor

This is one of our favorite restaurants at the beach. You know they type that you make a reservation for and not take the kids. This restaurant used to be a 1950's gas station. The decor is kind of rustic with lots of mahogany, copper and brass. It's kind of funky looking. The menu can described as upscale low country cuisine. They serve things like shrimp and grits, she-crab soup and blackened scallops. For non-seafood items you can try the pear and sausage stuffed quail or a smokehouse strip. My favorite is the salmon on a plank. They also have nighly specials that they write on a chalkboard. We have always had great service.
