Keifer's on State Street is the best restaurant in Jackson for several reasons: 1. Delicious food. The food there is typical Greek food - gyros, hummus, etc. - and it is consistently delicious. 2. Atmosphere. No other place in Jackson, with the exception of Fenian's, can match Keifer's unique atmosphere. Inside is dark and worn, but it's the outside that's so fantastic. It like sitting in a bungalow, and the view overlooks State street. It's one of the only places downtown you can go at night and really feel safe. 3. It's cheap. Dinner for one should never be more than $10, and prices for dates usually never go over $30. The cost to quality ratio beats any place in Jackson. Go there. A lot.

After a while of hearing about this place, I tried it out with some friends. IT's a typical greek restaurant with pitas and such. The menu was pretty attractive with choices but it's really not what I expected. The meal was very small in portion, nonetheless, it was good, but if I only get a couple of crumbs then it's useless to pay so much. Overall, maybe it's a good spot to have a few drinks and a light snack or lunch. The outdoor seating area is great though plush it is a relaxing atmosphere.
