I was fortunate enough to get my daughter into this preschool. I looked everywhere on the Plateau, Redmond, and Issaquah and felt this was the perfect fit. My daughter improved so much in her social skills in just a few months. The teachers are absolutely amazing and create a nurturing, Bible-based learning environment. Unlike the Montessori schools we looked at, this school focuses more on personal and inter-personal growth.
I only wish they had more space to create more preschool classes! I highly recommend getting up early and waiting in line for registration.

This is our new favorite restaurant! It is a mixture of bulgarian and mediterranean food. Great prices, dinners run around 12-15 dollars, however they have a great selection of sandwichs and pasta dishes for under 10 dollars. They also have a varied wine and beer selection that is sure to whet anyone's taste bud's. Execellant service everytime we've gone! Be forewarned that it is a hard place to find, the best way to find it is to take Gilman until you find Safeway then turn onto 7th Ave NW, take a left on Locust st. and you are in heaven! Happy eating!

This is really the place to go for remote control cars. My husband loves these little cars and spends all his money at Atomic. I have gone there for gifts for him and the staff have always been extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I have no clue about these cars and I always came out with the right thing. There is a lot of parking as it is in Gilman Village.

My daughter regularly sees Dr. Hiegel. She is genuinely concerned about the child's well being while helpfully guiding me as a parent. As soon as I mentioned my doctor at a play group two of the other Mom's sang her praises as well!
Once, I had an issue while Dr. Hiegel was away and was promptly (within an hour) called back by Dr. Vidal (SP?), also a doctor at Cascade Pediatrics. She was very bright and gave me several options, which I greatly appreciated.

Okay, it's not close. Flying Pie is about 25 minutes east of downtown Seattle. If you are like me, pizza, bread and the whole carb wagon are verboten. If you are going to splurge, make it worth your while and take the drive, totally worth it. Homemade crusts, rich sauces and tons of toppings. The best pizza I have ever had, in any city, in any state, ever, period.

Have some gently used baby/children's clothes, toys, or other items? Consider donating them to Eastside Baby Corner. They distribute items to fill the wish lists of social service providers who then give the items directly to clients in need. I have used this resource for over two years as a social service provider, and highly recommend it to others. They have very specific drop-off times, so call ahead of time. Their warehouse location is in Issaquah, which is a little bit of a drive from Seattle, but very easy to find-- and you'll be glad you did!

MYKEN'S was named "Best Pet Store" by the people pf the Pacific Northwest. They have an upscale selection of pet-care items that put other stores to shame. They sell everything from aromatherapy for doggies to flannel PJ's for the pooch. I have been taking the family dog here for about 10 years (as long as he has been alive) and they have done an absolutely unbelievable job. I love what they do and they are so kind to my animals and to me as well. The service is superior and the animals always come back to us in great condition and even happier.

I live 5 miles away and it's an great place to hike. There are no mountain bikes allowed so you don't have to worry about moving for them. It could get pretty mucky at times because of rain fall and the elevation is pretty high, so you will see the occational snow fall in the winter. Parking is pretty good, about a lot for 100 cars. The scenery once you get to the top is very nice. All though it is called cougar mountain, I have yet to encounter a cougar or bear. It's good to take your family up there and goof off or just to excercise. This place offers top of the line hiking in the city and best of all it's FREE! Give the place a visit and write a review of what you think about it.
